A well-established and growing organization in the Greater Phoenix area is seeking a strategic, hands-on Director of Technology to lead day-to-day technology operations and help drive the company’s long-term technology vision.


This opportunity is ideal for a proven leader who can balance strategic planning with operational execution, build strong internal processes, and ensure technology systems effectively support business goals. The right candidate will bring strong leadership experience, a service-focused mindset, and a successful background directly running MSP operations.


Position Overview

The Director of Technology will oversee technology operations, infrastructure, systems performance, service delivery, vendor relationships, and internal IT strategy. This individual will work cross-functionally with leadership and key stakeholders to ensure technology resources, processes, and teams are aligned with organizational priorities.


The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, an effective problem solver, and a practical leader who can manage both high-level initiatives and day-to-day operational needs in a managed services environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the organization’s technology operations and support overall business objectives
  • Direct and optimize MSP service delivery, team performance, and operational processes
  • Develop and implement technology strategies, policies, and operational best practices
  • Oversee IT infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity initiatives, and business continuity planning
  • Manage technology vendors, service providers, budgets, and related contracts
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify technology needs and recommend scalable solutions
  • Ensure reliability, performance, security, and efficiency of business systems and client-facing services
  • Establish and improve processes, documentation, SLAs, and service delivery standards
  • Lead, mentor, and develop technology team members

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience directly running MSP operations is required
  • Demonstrated success leading IT operations, service delivery, infrastructure, and cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong understanding of managed services operations, systems administration, networks, cybersecurity, cloud platforms, and vendor management
  • Experience building processes, managing priorities, and driving operational efficiency
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field; equivalent experience will also be considered
  • Experience supporting a multi-site or growing organization
  • Background in strategic planning, budgeting, and technology roadmaps
  • Relevant certifications are a plus
