Position Overview

The Director of Operations provides strategic leadership and oversight of the organization’s day-to-day operational functions. This role ensures facilities, fleet, vendors, office operations, records, and organizational systems are effectively managed to support agency goals and a safe, efficient work environment. The Director partners with senior leadership to improve processes, manage resources, mitigate operational risk, and support organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of agency-wide operations and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and systems that promote efficiency and accountability
  • Manage operational budgets, expenditures, and opportunities for cost savings
  • Oversee facilities, leases, maintenance, relocations, vendors, and property management relationships
  • Manage fleet, insurance, vehicle maintenance, equipment, and organizational assets
  • Oversee records management, contracts, document retention, and operational risk management
  • Support regulatory, contractual, insurance, and safety requirements
  • Lead business continuity and emergency preparedness efforts
  • Oversee office administration, supplies, equipment, and operational needs across agency locations
  • Partner with leadership and internal teams to identify needs, resolve operational challenges, and improve organizational effectiveness

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three or more years of progressive experience in operations, facilities, administration, business management, or a related field
  • Nonprofit experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, project management, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong relationship-building skills and professional judgment
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license and reliable transportation required
  • Ability to travel between organization locations as needed
