Strong background in leading geographically dispersed teams while delivering operational excellence, business value, and technology innovation.

Job Summary
Directs and manages the work of associates through management teams that develop, implement, and/or support technology solutions for an enterprise business portfolio. Provides strategic guidance to leadership to ensure the operational stability of technology systems and that technology solutions meet the short- and long-term needs of the organization.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
  • Directs multiple teams focused on technology development and support activities to ensure technology issues are resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner in accordance with governance and security processes.
  • Reviews the progress of technology efforts and removes roadblocks impeding work efforts.
  • Resolves complex problems by assessing multiple options and selecting the best course of action for the enterprise.
  • Presents activity statuses to peers, technology leaders, and company leaders and advocates for the needs of the team.
  • Works with direct reports to align technology resources to appropriate projects and workstreams, including managing departmental budgets.
  • Reviews operational processes and implements or directs changes when needed.
  • Partners with technology and business leaders to develop and recommend short- and long-term technology improvements and initiatives for the organization.
  • Participates in external leadership and development activities to drive continuous technology improvements within the company.

Nature and Scope
  • Problems are typically defined by higher level leadership. Problems are difficult. Solutions require analysis and investigation.
  • Decides how to achieve planned results within an organization's plans, policies, and guidelines. May set or change plans/goals within respective department or area.
  • May manage department via multiple layers of managers OR directly supervise a staff of professional individual contributors at the senior or technical advisor level.

Work Environment
  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience
  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 9+ years of experience in a related field, including several years in a management/supervisory capacity.
