This leader will establish clear governance while remaining deeply connected to execution, enabling technology to deliver reliable, scalable, and business-aligned outcomes for Smurfit WestRock.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
  • Enable reliable plant and business operations by ensuring high availability, performance, and support of corrugated business applications critical to quote-to-cash, manufacturing and supply chain execution.
  • Drive business-aligned technology outcomes by translating operational priorities into application roadmaps, prioritized backlogs, and measurable delivery outcomes.
  • Demonstrates a future-ready technology mindset with the ability to evaluate emerging capabilities - including AI, automation, and advanced analytics - and thoughtfully incorporate them into scalable business applications and process solution designs that drive operational efficiency and business value.
  • Improve delivery execution and transparency through strong governance, intake, and prioritization processes that align IT work with business value and capacity.
  • Accelerate modernization and simplification by partnering with Engineering & Architecture to reduce legacy complexity, improve integration, and adopt scalable, cloud-aligned solutions.
  • Strengthen cross-functional alignment by improving collaboration across IT, business units, plant operations, and external vendors to reduce friction and streamline execution.
  • Increase accountability and performance by establishing clear KPIs, SLAs, and reporting that drive ownership of outcomes across application teams and partners.
  • Optimize cost and value realization through disciplined budget management, vendor oversight, and continuous evaluation of run vs. grow investment tradeoffs.

What you need to succeed:
  • Education & experience: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; 10+ years of progressive IT experience with significant leadership in enterprise application delivery.
  • Proven track record managing, leading and developing multi-disciplined technical teams.
  • Applications leadership expertise: Proven experience leading business application portfolios in complex, multi-site manufacturing environments. Experience with KIWIplan integrated packaging ERP & MES solution modules.
  • Integration, data, and cloud architecture expertise: Strong understanding of enterprise integrations, APIs, and data architectures supporting ERP/MES platforms, with experience leveraging relational and cloud-based databases and scalable cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS) in high-availability manufacturing environments.
  • Strong delivery and governance discipline: Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale portfolios, establish intake and prioritization processes, and deliver initiatives on time and within budget.
  • Business partnership capability: Ability to engage with plant, operations, and commercial leaders to align technology solutions with business priorities and drive measurable outcomes.
  • Vendor and financial management: Experience managing third-party vendors, contracts, and SOWs, with accountability for budgets, cost optimization, and value realization.
  • Operational excellence mindset: Deep understanding of IT service management, including incident, problem, and change management, with a focus on stability and continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration and communication skills: Strong executive communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical topics into clear business impacts.
  • Change leadership: Ability to lead teams through transformation while maintaining operational stability in a fast-paced, manufacturing-driven environment.

Nice to Have:
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery tools such as Azure DevOps or similar backlog and sprint tracking platforms.

  • Experience utilizing AI tools and agents to improve team productivity and faster delivery.

  • Working knowledge of project management concepts, release planning, or change management in an IT or business setting.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage meeting cadences, action items, and team documentation in a structured way.

What we offer:
  • Corporate culture based on integrity, respect, accountability and excellence

  • Comprehensive training with numerous learning and development opportunities

  • An attractive salary reflecting skills, competencies and potential
