Director of Corporate Strategy and Integration
Purpose:
  • Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Director of Corporate Strategy and Integration in Virginia Beach, VA to lead enterprise integration planning, support corporate development initiatives, and drive strategic planning efforts that accelerate the company's long-term growth.
  • This position serves as the executive lead for acquisition integration while providing analytical, financial, and strategic support for corporate growth initiatives and executive decision-making. The Director partners closely with executive leadership, private equity sponsors, investment bankers, legal advisors, and business leaders to evaluate acquisition opportunities, conduct due diligence, lead integration planning, and execute post-acquisition initiatives.
  • In addition to leading acquisition integration efforts, this role serves as a strategic advisor to executive leadership by supporting enterprise strategy development, corporate planning, business transformation initiatives, and organizational performance improvements.
  • This role can be Remote.

Job Description:
Corporate Development & Acquisition Strategy
  • Conduct market research, competitive analyses, and strategic assessments to identify inorganic growth opportunities.
  • Develop business cases and strategic recommendations to support executive investment decisions.
  • Lead financial analyses and valuation assessments for acquisition opportunities.
  • Coordinate transaction execution activities, including due diligence and acquisition close support.

Executive Planning & Decision Support
  • Develop executive-level briefings, presentations, and decision packages for senior leadership, private equity sponsors, and the Board of Directors.
  • Prepare strategic analyses and recommendations related to acquisitions, integration progress, enterprise risks, and strategic initiatives.
  • Support executive leadership during acquisition strategy reviews and planning sessions.
  • Assist with annual operating plans and long-range strategic planning cycles.

Integration Planning & Management
  • Lead the development and execution of acquisition integration strategies and detailed integration plans.
  • Develop integration roadmaps that minimize disruption to customers, employees, and business operations.
  • Serve as the primary integration program manager responsible for tracking milestones, risks, dependencies, and executive decisions throughout the integration lifecycle.
  • Coordinate integration efforts across Finance, Human Resources, Contracts, Information Technology, Security, Operations, Business Development, and Communications.
  • Monitor integration milestones and facilitate timely issue resolution to maintain integration momentum.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and measure realization of acquisition objectives, operational synergies, and strategic milestones following transaction close.

Due Diligence & Transaction Support
  • Coordinate due diligence transition activities to ensure a seamless transition from acquisition planning through execution.
  • Identify transaction risks and integration considerations while recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Develop Day One readiness plans and 100-Day integration plans.
  • Support transition planning activities through transaction closing.

Enterprise Strategy
  • Support the development and execution of Valkyrie's long-range corporate strategy.
  • Lead strategic assessments of new markets, capabilities, and growth opportunities.
  • Conduct market analyses, competitive assessments, and scenario planning.
  • Evaluate organizational capabilities and recommend improvements that support long-term growth.
  • Monitor industry trends, customer priorities, competitive positioning, and emerging technologies to inform corporate strategy.

Qualifications:
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Management, or a related field and at least a Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in corporate strategy, corporate development, management consulting, mergers and acquisitions, transaction advisory, private equity portfolio operations, or related strategic leadership roles.
  • Must have demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide, cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Must have experience leading acquisition evaluations, financial modeling, due diligence, valuation, transaction execution, and post-merger integration.
  • Must have strong financial analysis, strategic planning, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills.
  • Must have experience developing executive-level presentations and facilitating executive decision-making.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to leverage generative AI and productivity tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot) to improve research, analysis, communication, and operational effectiveness.
  • Must have the ability to work effectively with senior executives, Board members, investors, and external advisors in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Qualifications:
  • MBA preferred.
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, government contracting, technology, or industrial organizations, preferred.
  • Experience with change management, organizational optimization, or integration and transition planning, preferred.

Travel Requirements:
  • 10%- Occasional travel as required to support acquisitions, integration activities, and executive meetings.

Physical Requirements:
