Pay Rate Starting at: Level $18.50/ hr Rates of pay are determined by previous experience and labor contract seniority.

SUMMARY

The mission of all Tops associates is to adhere to the Tops vision of providing a friendly neighborhood store that saves the customer time and money. Bakery Assistant manager must possess reasonable knowledge in storing, preparing, and maintaining product, as well as demonstrate competency in inventory control, ordering and receiving product, and labor management. Strong organizational skills, as well as prioritizing multiple tasks are required. Manager is responsible in setting an example in providing attentive and courteous customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Follow all Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as company policies regarding Bakery operations, safety, and sanitation
  • Achieve financial goals such as sales and gross profit maximization
  • Minimize shrink through proper handling and storing of product
  • Take customer orders accurately for cakes and other specialty bakery products
  • Adhere to company policy through proper processing, preparation, and packaging of product
  • Complete all necessary paperwork relating to Bakery Department
  • Assist the bakery manager in the training, and development of Bakery associates
  • Ensure supply levels are at acceptable levels, fulfill orders as needed
  • Take direction from the bakery manager and act in their place when absent
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Direct subordinates in implementing plan of action and goal attainment
  • Promote sales through courteous and friendly customer service
  • Minimize shrink through proper handling and storing of product
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 18 years of age 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions
  • Possess basic computer skills
  • Possess strong communication skills
