Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our Annuity Product team as a Director of Market Intelligence!
About the role
In the role of Director of Market Intelligence, you will be responsible for directing and leading all aspects of market and competitor intelligence initiatives for the Retirement Division. You will lead development, execution, and continual improvement of the market intelligence program. You will present market intelligence information to Product and Sales management and provide insights to be used in new product development. In this position, you may lead the work of data analysts supporting market intelligence functions
What you will do
  • Establish a vision and ongoing strategy for market intelligence programs, in alignment with Product, Sales, and corporate strategic goals.
  • Implement market intelligence strategy by directing market intelligence initiatives to provide actionable data used in product positioning, marketing and sales ideas, product development, pricing, and industry research.
  • Serve on cross-functional project teams and collaborate with other internal departments on initiatives that leverage competitive and/or internal Symetra product data.
  • Direct and oversee gathering and analysis of competitive intelligence, industry sales and association/study group data, published surveys, and other sources determined to be cost effective and reliable.
  • Direct the development and dissemination of market intelligence summaries, reports, communications, and analysis tools for use by internal management and Sales staff.
  • Deliver competitive information and Symetra product positioning to internal and external wholesalers. Respond to specific inquiries from Sales Desk Managers and sales leadership about potential incoming business.
  • Ensure timely and ongoing participation in industry surveys and study groups.
  • Direct identification, negotiation with, and management of vendors for services required to support market intelligence activities.

Compensation
$117,000 - $195,100 plus eligibility for Company Annual Bonus
Who you are
  • High school diploma required
  • College degree or equivalent industry experience required
  • 12-15 years of experience in the annuity industry / financial services sector.
  • Market research and competitive intelligence experience, including data analysis, trend identification, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in PowerBI, Excel, and SQL or similar data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for internal and external partners.
