Global Category DirectorJob Summary
We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Global Category Director to lead end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives across global operations. This individual contributor role will own the full 7-step sourcing lifecycle, translating complex spend data and market intelligence into actionable procurement strategies that drive cost savings, supplier performance, and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate combines deep category management expertise with strong negotiation skills and cross-functional leadership, partnering closely with Engineering, R&D, and global stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Sourcing & Category Management
  • Own and execute the full 7-step strategic sourcing process for assigned categories
  • Analyze global spend data across wholly owned entities and joint ventures to identify sourcing opportunities
  • Conduct supply market analysis to assess supplier capabilities, risks, and cost drivers (e.g., raw materials, logistics)
  • Develop and implement category strategies, including supplier selection, pricing models, and contract frameworks
  • Define and manage RFP/RFQ processes, including performance metrics and evaluation criteria
Supplier Selection & Negotiation
  • Perform detailed supplier analysis and establish selection criteria
  • Develop negotiation strategies, including target pricing, opening positions, and escalation thresholds
  • Lead complex, high-value supplier negotiations and secure favorable commercial terms
  • Manage contract negotiations, execution, and lifecycle
Execution & Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner with Engineering, R&D, and cross-functional teams on cost optimization and process improvement initiatives
  • Ensure seamless implementation of sourcing strategies through strong stakeholder alignment and communication
  • Lead global category meetings with buyers across multiple sites
Supplier Performance & Continuous Improvement
  • Establish and manage supplier scorecards and business reviews
  • Monitor supplier performance, compliance, and quality metrics
  • Maintain and update category strategies, including business continuity plans
  • Identify and implement new agreements to improve cost efficiency and operational performance
  • Track and validate savings, efficiency gains, and sourcing outcomes
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • Proven experience in supply chain management and category management
  • Strong background in strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations
  • Technical knowledge or experience in semiconductor fabrication (fab environment)
  • Experience sourcing chemicals, bulk gases, and/or cylinder gases
  • Understanding of financial analysis and cost modeling
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and work independently
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in process engineering or semiconductor manufacturing environments
  • Fluency in Hebrew and/or Japanese
  • Experience working in global, matrixed organizations
