Quality Manager | Lead Quality & Continuous Improvement in Manufacturing

Location: Lawrence, MA
Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
Compensation: $83,100 - $116,500 annually + Annual Performance Bonus
Employment Type: Direct Hire / Permanent
Work Environment: 100% Onsite


Are you a hands-on Quality Leader who thrives in a manufacturing environment and enjoys driving continuous improvement? We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality initiatives, maintain regulatory compliance, and champion operational excellence across our organization.

This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative leader who enjoys working closely with operations, engineering, production, and suppliers to improve processes, reduce defects, and strengthen quality systems. We're looking for someone who is proactive, eager to learn, and willing to roll up their sleeves—not an "armchair engineer."

What You'll Do

Quality Management System Leadership

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and applicable industry standards
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout the organization

Audit & Compliance Management

  • Lead internal, customer, and third-party audits
  • Manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Ensure timely resolution of audit findings and compliance issues

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead initiatives focused on reducing waste, defects, and process variation
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, and other quality tools
  • Develop quality metrics and performance measurements

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and mentor quality inspectors and technicians
  • Promote a culture of quality awareness and accountability
  • Support employee development and training initiatives

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams
  • Resolve quality issues and support customer satisfaction efforts
  • Participate in product and process improvement activities

Supplier Quality

  • Manage supplier audits, approvals, and corrective actions
  • Support First Article Inspections (FAI) and PPAP activities
  • Monitor and improve supplier performance

Quality Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain procedures, work instructions, records, and quality documentation
  • Track and report quality trends, KPIs, and compliance metrics
  • Maintain training and qualification records within the QMS

Cost of Quality Management

  • Reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
  • Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, returns, and warranty costs
  • Collaborate with Operations and Finance on quality-related cost improvements

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field
  • Minimum 5 years of quality experience within a manufacturing environment
  • At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems
  • Experience leading audits and managing CAPA processes
  • Experience developing and delivering quality training programs
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Experience

  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Quality standards such as ISO 9001, UL 1203, UL 508, NSF 61, or similar
  • Supplier quality management, FAI, and PPAP processes
  • COPQ analysis and process improvement initiatives
