Lean Transformation Focals apply advanced problem-solving techniques and lean principles to design predictable manufacturing systems which maximize throughput, increase productivity, and reduce overall costs.  Focals drive change in a factory environment and aid in shifting the culture of the business to adopt lean methodologies into their daily standard work.  Our team is passionate about continuous improvement, has great customer focus, and biased toward actions that generate results.

What You Will Do

  • Plan, coordinate, and transform existing work cells into high-performing lean manufacturing work cells utilizing the established lean transformation standard work and methods
  • Facilitate Manufacturing Standard Work and Cell Design workshops
  • Facilitate Integrated Production Logistics workshops
  • Facilitate Lean Bootcamps with factory personnel and staff
  • Facilitate advanced Value Stream Mapping events
  • Serve as Lean subject matter expert during CORE Leadership Weeks (CLW)
  • Co-facilitate internal organization policy deployment and goal alignment sessions
  • Expected to Travel up to 50% of the time, unless directly supporting a primary Raytheon site

What You Will Learn

  • Manage lean transformation projects providing significant improvements of processes, procedures, and systems to optimize performance within manufacturing areas
  • Communicate with internal customers across the business to understand the root cause of unfavorable schedule / cost metrics and implement action plans that target the underlying behaviors directly contributing toward the subpar performance
  • Produce robust business cases (ROIs) tied to improvement project efforts / initiatives that provide immediate results for Raytheon's business performance, while avoiding additional cost margin, schedule margin, or resource allocation erosion
  • Interface with multiple teams focused on driving continuous improvement efforts, including but not limited to factory directors, factory managers, factory leadership and support functions, and impacted hourly employees

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8 years of prior applicable experience.
  • Experience successfully applying Lean Manufacturing Principles
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security
    clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens
    are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Leading teams and capable of influencing without authority
  • Lean manufacturing practices regarding hardware flow and cell design
  • Excellent change management and effective communication skills
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or factory support role

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
