Position Summary
The Global Director of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) is a strategic technology leader responsible for the governance, optimization, security, and continuous evolution of Fortifi's global Human Capital Management (HCM) technology ecosystem. This role serves as the enterprise owner for HR technology strategy - ensuring our HRIS platforms enable business growth, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, workforce analytics, and an exceptional employee experience across all global locations and business units.
Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Global HRIS Director partners closely with Executive Leadership, HR, Payroll, Finance, Information Technology, Legal, Tax, and Internal Audit to establish enterprise-wide standards for HR technology, workforce data governance, process automation, integrations, reporting, and digital transformation.
Reporting Relationships
Reports to: Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)
Direct Reports: Senior HRIS Analyst (1), Regional HRIS Coordinators (2)
Key Responsibilities
HR Technology Strategy & Leadership
• Develop and maintain a multi-year global HR technology roadmap aligned with Fortifi's organizational growth strategy.
• Define enterprise HR technology vision and long-term system architecture across all business units.
• Lead digital transformation initiatives across Human Resources, including AI, machine learning, and process automation.
• Evaluate emerging HR technologies and employee experience platforms; recommend technology investments supported by business cases and ROI analysis.
• Develop annual strategic objectives and KPIs for HR technology; serve as the executive sponsor for HR technology initiatives.
System Governance & Operational Excellence
• Establish and maintain enterprise governance for HR technology including standards for system configuration, change management, production releases, security administration, data ownership, and workflow governance.
• Facilitate executive prioritization of system enhancements including new module implementations, system upgrades, and global deployments.
• Drive enterprise operational excellence by eliminating manual processes, increasing automation, simplifying workflows, and standardizing global business processes across all Fortifi business units.
• Promote Lean methodologies and continuous process improvement across the HR technology function.
Workforce Data & Reporting
• Develop enterprise standards ensuring accurate, consistent workforce information across all business units and countries.
• Lead enterprise workforce reporting strategy by developing executive dashboards and business intelligence to support strategic decision-making.
• Partner with Finance and Executive Leadership to develop enterprise KPI scorecards.
Payroll, Benefits & Compliance Technology
• Partner with Global Payroll leadership to support enterprise payroll operations through accurate system configuration and data governance.
• Provide strategic oversight of benefit technology including carrier integrations, eligibility rules, open enrollment, life event processing, ACA support, global benefits administration, vendor interfaces, and benefit data audits.
• Ensure HR technology complies with applicable laws and regulations including GDPR, HIPAA, ACA, FLSA, EEO, OSHA reporting, SOX controls, country-specific labor regulations, and global record retention requirements.
• Partner with Legal, Internal Audit, and Information Security during compliance reviews; ensure all HR systems meet corporate cybersecurity standards.
Mergers & Acquisitions
• Lead HR technology workstreams for mergers and acquisitions including HR technology due diligence, data conversion strategy, organizational design, payroll setup, security provisioning, historical data migration, integration testing, benefit eligibility, and go-live planning.
• Drive post-acquisition optimization to ensure newly integrated business units align with Fortifi enterprise HR technology standards.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive HRIS leadership experience, including 5+ years leading enterprise HR technology teams.
• 10+ years UKG specific experience that includes system architecture, company creation, security configuration, workflow configuration, business rule configuration, employee data configuration, job architecture, compensation configuration, benefits configuration payroll configuration, Time and Attendance configuration, Performance Management configuration, learning platform configuration, compliance configuration, audit and reporting configuration.
• Demonstrated experience implementing enterprise UKG Pro platforms.
• Experience supporting multinational organizations and leading global HRIS transformations.
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions HR technology integration.
• Strong knowledge of payroll, benefits, HR operations, and workforce data management.
• Demonstrated executive presentation and communication skills.
• Deep understanding of compliance requirements including GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, ACA, and global labor regulations.
• Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and drive ROI from HR technology investments.
Compensation

Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and the scope of the role within Fortifi's global organizational structure.
