Job description

Director of Event Sales

Boutique Destination Hotel | North Bay / San Francisco Bay Area (Hybrid)

We are seeking a Director of Event Sales for a unique boutique destination property in the San Francisco Bay Area, to lead the growth of its group and event business. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated sales professional who enjoys building relationships, generating new business, and creating memorable guest experiences through corporate retreats, meetings, weddings, and social events.

This role is ideal for someone who still thrives on actively selling and developing new business while also helping shape the overall sales strategy. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a collaborative boutique hospitality environment where creativity, initiative, and exceptional service are highly valued.

What You'll Do

  • Drive new business development across corporate retreats, meetings, weddings, and social events.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, event planners, and community partners.
  • Actively prospect, network, and generate qualified leads through outside sales efforts and relationship building.
  • Manage the sales process from initial inquiry through contract execution, working closely with internal teams to ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences and successful events.
  • Help shape and execute sales strategies, business development initiatives, and market outreach.
  • Represent the property at industry events, networking opportunities, and client meetings.
  • Maintain accurate sales activity, forecasting, and pipeline management.

What We're Looking For

  • Hospitality sales experience, preferably within hotels, resorts, or boutique/lifestyle properties.
  • Strong background in event sales, group sales, catering sales, or wedding sales.
  • Proven ability to generate new business and build lasting client relationships.
  • A genuine passion for sales and business development, with a desire to remain actively involved in the selling process.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and comfortable working independently.
  • A collaborative, hands-on approach with a strong hospitality mindset.

Why This Opportunity?

  • Hybrid work environment, with approximately one day per week on property and the remainder spent meeting clients, prospecting, or working remotely.
  • Opportunity to play a key role in the continued growth of a boutique destination property.
  • Diverse mix of corporate retreats, meetings, weddings, and social events.
  • Competitive compensation package including base salary, commission, and performance-based bonus opportunities that reward strong sales performance.

If you're a relationship-driven sales professional who loves developing business, creating exceptional client experiences, and making a meaningful impact within boutique hospitality, we'd love to connect.
