Job description

Overview
The Director, Environmental Services oversees the strategic direction and operational excellence of environmental services across Benedictine communities. This role is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained living environment that enhances the quality of life for residents and aligns with organizational standards and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee all environmental services operations across Benedictine communities.
  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives to improve operational efficiencies, service quality, and resident satisfaction.
  • Assist in the recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of community-based environmental services leaders to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Implement standards and best practices for housekeeping, maintenance, laundry, and other environmental services to ensure clean, safe, and inviting living spaces.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies, including OSHA, CMS, NFPA, and state licensing requirements. Assist community leadership to prepare, manage, and oversee budgets for environmental services, ensuring fiscal responsibility while maintaining high-quality service delivery.
  • Lead initiatives that promote resident, team member, and visitor safety, including sanitation, infection control, and emergency preparedness planning.
  • Partner with regional and community leadership teams to ensure environmental services align with resident expectations and organizational priorities.
  • Promotes the Benedictine Mission and Core Values of Hospitality, Stewardship, Respect and Justice by bringing the Mission and Core Values into the day-to-day activities of the company.
  • Performs other duties, tasks, and/or projects as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
  • 15+ years of leadership experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or facilities management (preferably in senior living, skilled nursing, or healthcare settings).
  • Experience managing multi-site operations with oversight for teams and budgets.
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
  • Trade, Associate, or Bachelor's degree in environmental services, business administration, healthcare administration, or related field.
  • Boiler's license or other HVAC certification(s)
  • Refrigeration Certificate
  • Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (HESP) or related certification.
