Job description

Skilled Nursing Facility has an opportunity for an experienced Assistant Director of Environmental Services.
Our Assistant Director of Environmental Services must possess the following:
  • must have experience in maintenance/engineering & exp. in a Nursing Home/Hospital setting.
  • Knowledge of Fire Safety Codes, NYS and Federal regulations for nursing homes.
  • Strong administrative experience.

The Assistant Director of Environmental Services is responsible for:
  • Maintaining the facility in a clean, safe and comfortable manner while meeting all regulations and guidelines established by regulatory agencies.
  • Performs daily rounds and evaluates the performance of the staff.
  • Conducts inspection of resident rooms, residential areas, and common areas for sanitation, safety, etc.
  • Maintains time schedules, staff schedules, and ensures completion of documentation required.
  • Inspects and evaluates the physical condition of the building and coordinates with the Director of Maintenance.
  • Responsible for recruitment, training, and supervision of Housekeeping staff and conducting progressive disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Ensures proper safety and security of resident property including oversight of facility Housekeeping, Laundry and Maintenance services.

Qualifications:
  • Must possess experience as an Assistant Director of Environmental Services in a long-term care facility
  • Knowledge of NYS DOH LTC Survey Guidelines
  • Customer service oriented
  • Training in environmental and infection control practices
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and be a team player!
