Your role at a glance
The Senior Director, Technology and Innovation is responsible for leading the exploration, adoption, and integration of advanced technologies
shaping the future of our digital infrastructure. Reporting to the VP, Capacity Strategy and Innovation, this role leads the identification,
evaluation, and execution of innovation initiatives: including AI/ML, automation and emerging infrastructure technologies that deliver
measurable business value.
The Senior Director will act as both a strategic visionary and execution leader, responsible for developing technology roadmaps, incubating
next-generation solutions, and promoting a company-wide culture of innovation. This is a highly visible and influential role at the intersection
of technology, business strategy, and ecosystem collaboration.
What we are looking for
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Leads and drives strategic initiatives, including multi-year emerging technology strategies, innovation programs and technology transformation efforts aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Defines and executes innovation roadmaps, including AI/ML, automation, analytics, and emerging infrastructure technologies.
  • Drives cross-functional innovation programs from concept through proof-of-concept, pilot, and scaled deployment.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, delivering executive briefings, innovation workshops and forward-looking insights on AI and digital infrastructure trends.
  • Evaluates disruptive technologies such as edge computing, quantum and sustainability innovations, benchmarking industry competitors and identifying differentiation opportunities.
  • Builds business cases, ROI models, and investment recommendations for emerging technology investments, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and measurable outcomes.
  • Partners with internal teams to ensure responsible adoption, including governance, compliance, and risk considerations emerging technologies.
  • Represents NTT GDC at industry forums, technology councils, and conferences, positioning the company as a thought leader in AI and infrastructure innovation.
  • Establishes and manages external partnerships with technology vendors, hyperscalers, startups, and research institutions.
  • Monitors industry trends, competitive developments, and regulatory considerations related to emerging technologies.
  • Promotes a culture of practical innovation, encouraging experimentation while maintaining operational discipline.

KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES
  • Visionary thinker with the ability to anticipate and harness future technology trends.
  • Deep understanding of AI/ML applications, automation, edge computing, and sustainability solutions.
  • Strong grasp of AI ethics, compliance, and governance frameworks.
  • Exceptional business acumen and ability to articulate ROI for emerging technology initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead regionally diverse teams and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to influence organizational culture and drive change.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to formulate clear and concise executive messages.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or PhD) preferred but not required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • 10-12 years of experience in technology innovation, strategy, AI/ML, or emerging technologies within infrastructure, cloud, or digital environments
  • Proven track record delivering innovation initiatives from concept to scaled implementation
  • Experience building business cases, financial models, and investment recommendations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Remain stationary for long periods of time.
  • Operate computer, peripherals and other office equipment.
  • Primarily sitting with some walking, standing and bending.
  • Able to hear and speak into a telephone or computer-based telecommunication system
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other technical instruments.
  • Availability across global time zone.

WORK CONDITIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • This role requires approximately 25% travel as per the requirements of the business.
  • Perform remote work from a location with stable internet connection.

Compensation Pay Range
For roles residing in the US, we share pay and benefit levels to support pay transparency requirements. For other countries, we are more than happy to share our competitive pay and benefit levels during the interview process.
This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device, if applicable.
NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $197,100.00 - $292,100.00
All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
