Job description

Overview
Are you ready for what's next, now?
We're looking for a Director, Customer Marketing for our office in Alpharetta, GA. The position is full-time. You'll join a fast-paced, collaborative marketing team with a mandate to build and scale how we engage, activate, and grow our existing customer base across a global portfolio of industry-specific solutions.
About the Role
Our Global Marketing team is looking for a Director, Customer Marketing to build and lead a critical function focused on driving revenue from our existing customers. This role sits at the intersection of Marketing, Sales, and Product - and plays a direct role in creating expansion pipeline through upsell, cross-sell, and customer engagement strategies.
You will be responsible for turning our customer base into a growth engine. That means designing campaigns, programs, and experiences that keep customers engaged, informed, and ready to take the next step with Aptean. From targeted lifecycle campaigns to customer events and advocacy programs, your work will directly influence how we drive revenue beyond the initial sale.
This is a build-and-scale opportunity. While elements of customer marketing exist today, this role will unify and elevate those efforts into a structured, measurable, and repeatable function.
You will also:
  • Own and execute the customer marketing strategy focused on expansion revenue (upsell and cross-sell)
  • Partner closely with inside sales and account management teams to generate qualified opportunities from existing customers
  • Design and run targeted campaigns using customer segmentation, product usage, and market insights
  • Lead customer communication programs, including newsletters, product launches, and lifecycle engagement
  • Build customer advocacy programs - including case studies, references, and testimonial content
  • Drive customer engagement through events, advisory boards, and roundtables (including large global events like Unite)
  • Establish and track customer health and engagement metrics such as NPS, adoption, and campaign performance
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to integrate messaging and expansion opportunities within the product experience
  • Work across platforms such as Salesforce, Marketo, and other marketing tools to scale execution
  • Lead, coach, and develop a growing team of customer marketing professionals
About You
You are a builder. You don't wait for a function to be perfectly defined - you shape it, structure it, and turn it into something that produces real results. You're energized by the opportunity to create a new capability and prove its impact on revenue.
You are commercially minded. You understand that marketing exists to drive business outcomes, and you're comfortable owning programs that generate pipeline, not just engagement. You know how to align with Sales and create momentum together.
You are also collaborative and adaptable. You thrive in environments with multiple stakeholders, products, and moving parts - bringing clarity where there is complexity and pushing things forward when others might stall.
You must also be:
  • An experienced B2B marketing leader with a background in customer marketing, demand generation, lifecycle marketing, or a closely related field
  • Experienced working in SaaS or enterprise software environments
  • Proven in driving campaigns and programs that result in customer expansion (upsell/cross-sell)
  • A strong cross-functional partner to Sales, Product, and Marketing teams
  • Data-driven, with the ability to use customer insights to shape strategy and decision-making
  • A leader who has built, managed, or scaled teams and can develop talent effectively
To be ahead of the pack, you might have:
  • Experience standing up or scaling a customer marketing function from scratch
  • Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation tools such as Salesforce and Marketo
  • Experience building customer advocacy, community, or reference programs
  • Exposure to multi-product or multi-industry SaaS environments
  • A track record of aligning closely with Sales to drive measurable revenue outcomes
What's in it for You?
Aptean offers competitive pay and robust benefit plans along with the opportunity to grow your career in a fast-paced, flexible and casual environment, an outstanding opportunity for career development and growth. You'll join a leadership team that values initiative, problem-solving, and ownership.
This is a high-impact role with the opportunity to build a new function, shape strategy, and directly influence revenue growth across a global customer base.
