Job description

This position requires office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered.

Overall Purpose: Oversee and optimize development, implementation, and maintenance of credit and collections systems, procedures, and policies, ensuring timely receivables, mitigating financial risk, and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Roles and Responsibilities: Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Credit Risk and Collections Management: Assess and monitor the creditworthiness of clients, approving or declining credit applications based on thorough analysis. Develop and execute effective collection strategies to minimize overdue accounts and bad debt.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with sales, finance, and other departments to ensure alignment and effective communication regarding credit policies. Prepare and present regular reports on credit and collections performance to senior management.
Leadership and Management: Oversee and lead the credit and collections team, ensuring staff are well-trained, motivated, and working efficiently. Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize departmental performance.
Training and Professional Development: Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for the credit and collections team to ensure continuous improvement.
Other Duties as Assigned: Maintain high levels of customer service, ensure compliance with relevant laws, manage external agency relationships, and evaluate technology solutions to enhance efficiency, along with other duties as assigned.
Job Contribution: Oversees operational aspects of the department, focusing on the day-to-day management of related initiatives. This role is primarily concerned with the implementation and execution of strategies developed by higher management. Typically leads entry-level and career-level staff within the organization. Responsible for influencing decisions regarding the hiring, firing, disciplinary action, promotional activity, and pay decisions for subordinates.
