Overview:
We are seeking a Director, Content Strategy & Acquisitions, to be a key contributor role in managing acquired content for Paramount Media Networks. The Director will work closely together with key partners in the TV Media Group and with a wide range of teams throughout the company, including Content Acquisitions, Finance, and Research.
This role is designed as a senior individual contributor and will manage the acquired programming inventory across the cable networks, and work with internal partners on the complete timeline for newly acquired movies and series.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Manage the full lifecycle of acquired programming for the Paramount Media Networks cable brands, maintaining and tracking the entire acquired inventory, working closely with the SVP to optimize usage across the portfolio
  • Serve as primary point person for internal stakeholders including Finance, Research, and Operations, while supporting the Content Acquisitions team throughout negotiations with studio partners
  • Partner with Research and Finance to evaluate audience performance data, conduct ROI analyses, and track content investments through the negotiation lifecycle
  • Manage the programming acquisitions budget and direct the distribution of resources across the portfolio to fulfill needs and optimize assets
  • Oversee the acquired movie library and acquired series renewal processes for the Programming department; coordinate with network scheduling teams on inventory needs
  • Collaborate with the Direct-to-Consumer Group on acquired content management for Showtime linear networks including Library inventory and Pay-1 theatrical titles
  • Distribute internal deal memos, interpret licensing agreements, and communicate scheduling rights and allowances to internal stakeholders
  • Manage and mentor a Coordinator, providing day-to-day direction, workload prioritization, and ongoing coaching to support successful project execution and professional growth.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• 5+ years of experience in Programming or Content Acquisitions with strong film and tv series knowledge
• Strong analytical understanding, including fluency in Excel and PowerPoint
Additional Qualifications:
• Programming and/or Scheduling background a plus
• Familiarity with industry trends, competitive landscapes, and market analysis
• Ability to pivot with ease and flexibility and strong attention to detail and consistency
• Strong project management capabilities
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, executive-ready insights

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $110,400.00 - 138,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
