Overview of the Role:

X-LabsOperations Engineerisdirectlyaccountablefor thephysicalinstallation andmaintenancesupportwithinComcast's national labs.Responsible forparticipatingas an individual contributor in project teams, troubleshooting operational issues, providing technical solutions to operational problems, new product implementation, implementing existing products and services and the overall upkeep and maintenance of designated areas of engineering.Engineerpossessesadeepunderstanding ofMSOarchitectures includingCRAN, DAA, NDC, HFC, and cloud video.Individualrespondsto network incidents,determinesactions orresources needed for correction,anddrives resolution.Acts in compliance with industry and Company technical requirements, standards, policies, and procedures.Maintainsin-depth experience, knowledge, and skills inareaof discipline, usuallydeterminingownwork priorities and serving asresourcefor colleagues with less experience.Interfacesregularlywith vendors, engineering,and peer operations organizations, includingDesign Engineering, Video Engineering, CMTS Engineering, Systems Engineering,IP Network Engineering, Critical Infrastructure, and Project Management.Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment. May lead teams,projects,and provides technical leadership to junior Engineers and project teams.

  • 5-7 years of experience in MSOs Architectures (multiple-system operators), including HFC (Hybrid Fiber Coax), DAA (Distributed Access Architecture), PON (Passive Optical Network), etc.

  • Proven ability to analyze andphysicallyevaluate complexIP/RF/Opticalnetworks,identifyissues, andapply corrections or enhancements to ensurenetwork operation efficiency.

  • A self-starter whodemonstratescritical thinking, self-motivation,time-management,courage,and curiosity.

  • Intermediate knowledgeof Critical Infrastructure systems(power/space/cooling)andtheirimportance to Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM).

  • Ability toidentifyoperational andperformanceopportunities;assistwith creatingstrategies and recommendations to improve networkavailability, andproactively contribute insights within the area of expertise to simplify futureadditions and changes.

  • Ability to partner with functional teams to influence and drive alignment.

  • Familiarity with MicrosoftOfficesuite including Outlook, Excel,Teams,and PowerPoint.

  • Experience withticketing platforms,ie. JIRA.

Compensation

Primary Location Pay Range: $80,472.12 - $120,708.18Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.
