Job description

Description
The position will oversee the daily front-desk operations of the Outpatient Clinic. Maintains efficient and orderly admission of individuals who have hospital-based outpatient testing or procedure(s). Maintains open communication with the Business Office, DON, and Clinic Managers in relation to registration processes.
Staff Management: Onboarding, training, scheduling, and evaluating performance for Registration Representatives. Serves as a "super user" for registration process. Performs responsibilities of the Registration Representative. Ensure that the Registration Representatives are collecting accurate information from the patient and entering it correctly into the computer system. Monitor patient check-in times and streamlining processes to reduce wait times and improve the overall patient experience. Works as a go-between with the clinical teams and staff to resolve workflow or throughput issues of the department. Plan and conduct staff meetings.
Ensure compliance with Medicare/Medicaid guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and facility privacy policies. Responsible for in-servicing the Registration Clerks concerning issues such as Conditions of Admissions, advance directives, patient's rights and responsibilities, HIPAA, hospital policies and procedures.
Oversee the collection of upfront payments, co-pays, and verifying insurance coverage prior to appointments. Verifies staff collections daily.
Address patient complaints, escalating scheduling conflicts, and system or insurance billing errors.
Communicates clearly and concisely within the department and with other hospital departments.
Requirements
Regulatory Requirements: High School Graduate or GED.
Minimum of three years of experience admitting/patient registration, pre-registration & pre-certification, or patient accounting experience.
One or more years of experience of customer service.
Maintains a professional appearance and acts as a role model to the staff.
Ensures confidentiality of patients' records.
Actively participates in the clinic's performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
Ensures compliance with policies and procedures regarding operations, fire, safety, and infection control.
Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
