Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is seeking Assistant Director of Marketing in Athletics. This position will report to Assistant AD/Marketing and Promotions as well as the Associate AD for External Operations.  Must be able to assist in the development, planning, coordination and implementation of all marketing and promotional efforts for the Department of Athletics. Will also be responsible for growing the Department of Athletics community relations.

Will plan, coordinate and implement marketing, promotional and social media efforts for primarily Basketball, Volleyball, and Wrestling. Responsible for driving ticket sales and attendance for all ticketed sports. Responsible for driving engagement through meaningful community relations utilizing market research, analytics, and consumer and social trends.

Coordinate in-game promotions for football (on field director), basketball (game day director) and assist with baseball promotions as needed as well as other sports assigned. Writes and executes game scripts for Basketball, Volleyball and Wrestling. Assist with Football and Baseball. In-game promotions include but are not limited to; pre-game, timeouts, halftimes etc.  Collaborates with Corporate Sales & Sponsorships to execute promotions that reflect marketing/sales commitments.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have a Bachelor's degree. Must be willing to work nights and weekends, including all home Football, Basketball, Baseball, and other athletic events and contests as assigned. Ability to use MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Asana or similar project management software.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Sport Marketing, Marketing, Communications, or Graphic Design.  Experience managing community engagement/relations, prior experience working in athletics, experience with market research and analytics, and knowledge of consumer and social trends.
