Job Description
Position Overview
Director of Strategy and Video leads the basketball operations video department, managing film breakdown, scouting analysis, and equipment to support coaches and players. This individual also transforms complex basketball, player tracking, and scouting data into actionable insights for team coaching staff.
Responsibilities
  • Strategic Support: Create data visualizations and scouting reports for coaches, scouts, and management, often with fast turnaround times.
  • Film Breakdown & Editing: Edit practice and game film, including in-game/halftime clips and in-depth player development video packages.
  • Scouting & Analysis: Break down film to analyze opposing teams' plays, offensive/defensive schemes, and personnel for coaches.
  • Technology Management: Maintain video recording/editing hardware and ensure proper usage of software like Synergy Sports or Hudl/Sportscode.
  • Coaching Support: Supply film and data to coaches and management upon request, providing actionable insights for preparation. Oversee team managers, managing workflow
  • On-Court Support: Assist with player development, including rebounding for players during shooting sessions.

Required Qualifications
  • Earned four-year baccalaureate degree required or equivalent experience
  • Deep understanding of modern basketball strategies, terminology, defensive and offensive schemes, advanced metrics, and trends.
  • Previous experience in video operations for a professional or high-level collegiate basketball team is typically required, often starting as a junior coordinator or intern.
  • Expert knowledge of video editing software (e.g., Sportscode, Adobe Premiere) and video capturing technology.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to work long hours under strict deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with 2D/3D player tracking data (e.g., Second Spectrum).
  • Proven record of impacting team decisions through data
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations required.
