Duties and Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Coordinator of Women's Basketball Operations will include, but is not limited to assisting the Head Coach in the day-to-day operations of a Division I intercollegiate program as follows:
1. Responsible for general oversight and monitoring of basketball operational budgets as assigned by Head Coach.
2. Hires and supervises team manager staff.
3. Coordinates Christmas Break plan (meal money, housing, transportation).
4. Coordinates and maintains proper administration of player and staff complimentary tickets for both home and away contests.
5. Assists with end of season banquet and Senior Day Celebration.
6. Coordinates team community service projects.
7. Coordinates housing for all players.
8. Manages game film exchange as well as video editing and storage for game preparation.
9. Works with Athletic Sports Information Office to ensure appropriate information is available on website.
10. Monitors social media site for team along with SID.
11. Directs all aspects of team travel and Head Coach.
12. Plans and coordinates lodging and transportation for all road games.
13. Plans and coordinates all team meals.
14. Coordinates practice time/sites on road trips.
15. Coordinates and reconciles distribution of stipend monies to student-athletes.
16. Implements travel arrangements for all recruiting trips for Head and Assistant Coaches.
17. Plans and coordinates team schedule for program related activities.
18. Coordinates practice times and schedules with facilities.
19. Visits team practices and shoot a rounds.
20. Assists in all aspects of basketball camps as directed by Head Coach.
21. Performs other duties as required by Head Women's Basketball Coach or Athletic Director.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in related field and at least two to three years of related experience required. Experience as a student-athlete considered.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of intercollegiate athletics at the Division I level.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Effective communication both verbal and written.
  • Experience working in a culturally diverse environment and groups of student-athletes.
  • Ability to understand simple budgeting principles.
  • Commitment to knowing and complying with the NCAA, Atlantic 10 Conference and University rules and policies.
  • Maintains office hours set by Head Coach and/or University.
