Job Purpose
Reporting to the Head Coach, the Director of Men's Basketball Operations assists with all operational and administrative aspects of the Men's Basketball program.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least one year of relevant experience in amateur, intercollegiate or professional sports.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications
College-level playing or coaching experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Summary
  • Knowledge of Big South and NCAA rules and regulations and the ability to apply them consistently.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with staff, student-athletes and coaches from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.

Job Summary
  • Coordinates practice times at home and on the road.
  • Records and maintains statistics during practices and games.
  • Plans and arranges team travel and meals.
  • Directs on-campus recruiting visits, including travel arrangements and itinerary.
  • Manages the administrative functions of summer camps and serves as camp liaison.
  • Serves as liaison for Men's Basketball team managers.
  • Works with Athletics Marketing and Communications on social media accounts and promotions to increase attendance.
  • Makes all arrangements for team members during breaks within the university calendar.
  • Plans and coordinates special events for Men's Basketball alumni and programs.
  • Assists coaches with academic and personal development of student-athletes.
  • Handles all coach and player ticket requests.
  • Assists with organizational aspects of practices.

Travel/Overtime Requirements
Ability to travel and work nights, weekends and holidays, as necessary.
Telecommuting
Employees are not eligible for telecommuting/remote work during their 12-month probationary period. After that time, certain positions may be eligible for telecommuting/remote work at the discretion of the supervisor and in accordance with Winthrop policies.
