What You'll Do

The Senior Director, Finance Transformation and Automation is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the modernization of RTIโ€™s financial organization through the strategic application of Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, automation, and advanced analytics. This leader brings deep financial expertise; across controllership, FP&A, and financial operations; and has a demonstrated track record of leading finance organization transformations that measurably improve efficiency, controls, and decision-making capability.

The Senior Director oversees two high-impact teams: 1) Automation & Analytics and 2) Finance Systems Integration & Roadmap; partnering closely with CFO functions, Enterprise technology team, and business leadership to fully leverage Oracle Fusion Cloud as the financial backbone of the Institute and build a scalable, insight-driven finance organization.

Automation & Analytics Team:

Leads the development and implementation of automation solutions, advanced analytics, and intelligent dashboards that eliminate manual financial workflows and empower self-serve data insights across the organization. Applies financial domain expertise to ensure automation investments are grounded in business value and aligned with how finance operations actually run.

Finance Systems Integration & Roadmap Team:

Drives the strategic integration and optimization of Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP across CFO functions, managing the end-to-end roadmap for platform adoption, module expansion, and ongoing capability development. Ensures the system reflects and enforces sound financial practices, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.

Essential duties include:

Financial Organization Transformation

  • Lead end-to-end transformation of RTIโ€™s finance organization, leveraging Oracle Fusion Cloud as the primary platform to modernize financial processes across accounting, FP&A, contracts, and treasury functions.
  • Apply deep controllership and FP&A expertise to redesign financial workflows; driving faster close cycles, stronger internal controls, and materially improved financial reporting quality.
  • Partner with CFO leadership to define and execute a multi-year finance transformation roadmap, translating strategic financial objectives into concrete system and process changes.
  • Lead integration of Oracle Fusion into new RTI subsidiaries, business model expansions, acquisitions, and investments; developing scalable frameworks that accelerate onboarding and preserve financial integrity across entities.
  • Accountable for change management related to finance technology; partnering with RTIโ€™s Organizational Development and Change Management Center of Excellence to ensure successful adoption and sustained behavior change.

Oracle Fusion Cloud Optimization

  • Serve as RTIโ€™s internal Oracle Fusion subject matter authority; ensuring the full suite is configured to support RTIโ€™s financial requirements and maximize platform ROI.
  • Manage the optimization of enhancements, patches, and module expansions across CFO systems to ensure accurate financial transaction recognition, process improvement, advanced analytics, and automation.
  • Drive the advancement of Oracle and other tools for automated reconciliations, financial consolidations, and close acceleration, reducing cycle time while strengthening control documentation.
  • Ensure all new system capabilities and integrations preserve or enhance adherence to accounting and auditing policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements; with an emphasis on automating RTIโ€™s control environment.

Analytics, Automation & Data Enablement

  • Lead the development of executive dashboards and self-service financial analytics using Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC), translating complex financial data into actionable insights for CFO leadership and business partners.
  • Champion finance automation through Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), RPA implementation, and workflow; eliminating manual processes and improving data accuracy across the financial ecosystem.
  • Partner with the finance FP&A and business partner teams to build integrated planning solutions for budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling using Oracle.ย 

Governance, Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership

  • Co-chair the Corporate Systems Operating Committee with Enterprise Systems leadership; work closely with the Executive Committee comprising RTIโ€™s CFO, CHRO, and COO.
  • Align governance processes with Enterprise Technology Strategy & Architecture and CFO Finance leadership to ensure cohesive decision-making, financial control consistency, and long-term operational scalability.
  • Support communications of the finance transformation program to the Board of Governors, RTI leadership, and key staff across the Institute.
  • Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing team; manage through performance planning, career development, and succession processes to build sustained capability within the finance transformation function.

What You'll Need

Minimum Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 20 years of experience, Master's degree and 16 years of experience, PhD and 12 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA strongly preferred.
  • Experience must include significant finance leadership in controllership, FP&A, or financial operations, with a demonstrated record of leading Oracle Fusion Cloud implementations and finance organization transformations.
  • To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa status, etc.).
Additional Required Skills & Abilities
  • Financial Organization Transformation: Demonstrated track record leading end-to-end transformation of finance organizations; redesigning processes, restructuring teams, and building capability in controllership, FP&A, and financial operations. Experience driving measurable improvements in close efficiency, reporting accuracy, and financial controls across complex, multi-entity organizations.
  • Oracle Fusion Cloud (Core Requirement): Deep, hands-on expertise implementing, configuring, and optimizing Oracle Fusion Cloud modules; including GL, subledgers (AP, AR, fixed assets), cash management, procurement, and projects modules. Must have led at least one full-cycle Oracle Fusion implementation or major optimization initiative in a senior financial leadership capacity. Familiarity with Oracle suite of modules is strongly preferred.
  • Financial Operations Expertise: Strong finance and accounting background with experience leading or partnering with finance functions. Ability to translate accounting requirements into system configuration and automated controls within Oracle Fusion.
  • FP&A & Integrated Planning: Experience designing and leading FP&A transformation initiatives including integrated planning. Practical knowledge of Oracle modules for planning and scenario modeling. Ability to elevate FP&A from historical reporting to forward-looking, insight-driven financial partnership.
  • Business Intelligence & Financial Analytics: Proven ability to build executive financial dashboards and self-service analytics using Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) or equivalent platforms. Skilled at translating complex financial data into KPI-driven narratives that support executive and board-level decision-making.
  • Process Automation & Finance Technology: Experience championing finance automation through API integrations (Oracle Integration Cloud), RPA, and intelligent workflow design. Track record of eliminating manual processes, improving data integrity, and scaling finance operations through technology.
  • Change Management in Finance Transformation: Ability to lead the human side of finance transformation; building stakeholder buy-in, managing resistance, and sustaining adoption of new systems and processes across finance organizations. Experience working with change management frameworks in large, complex institutions.
