Winston Benefits, a Brown & Brown company, is seeking a Billing and Accounts Specialist. This position will identify, record, and apply all checks received in our corporate office and support billing and other related functions in the premium accounting department. In addition, the position will assist the accounts teams in any required support type work.
How You Will Contribute
  • Record and perform Web Banking Deposits for all checks received for Corporate and Premium Accounts.
  • Apply all manual payments for missed deductions, and direct billing accounts into IBS.
  • Manage cancellation process daily which includes reviewing Call Center cancellation requests, transposing information onto the appropriate Cancellation Request form and mailing to the appropriate member/employee.
  • Manage the Missed Deduction Letter fulfillment when needed.
  • Serve as backup support to Billing Coordinator.
  • Prepare billing and coordinate with Account Manager during Cata Direct Bill Process.
  • Maintain Direct Bill spreadsheet and notify carriers.
  • Serve as backup support on 3rd party clients.
  • Assist the account servicing team in resolving issues.

Skills & Experience to Be Successful
  • Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented.
  • Strong sense of initiative and self-motivation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to address difficult situations in a tactful, professional manner.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic accounting skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite programs, internal systems and other programs needed for management of department.

Pay Range
20 - 25 Hourly
The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
