Building strong internal relationships is essential for delivering a seamless client experience and achieving account growth targets.

How much does a direct account manager get paid?

The average salary for a direct account manager typically ranges from $60,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on experience, industry, and location. Many account managers also receive bonuses and commissions based on performance, which can significantly increase total compensation.

Job description

Company Description

VERSANT (Nasdaq: VSNT) is an industry-changing media and entertainment business and home to trusted brands that shape culture, inform audiences, and build lasting connections. It operates across four core markets: political news and opinion, business news and personal finance, golf, and sports and genre entertainment. These markets are served through a powerful portfolio of iconic and innovative brands, including CNBC, MS NOW, USA Network, Golf Channel, Oxygen, E!, SYFY, and Versant's sports division USA Sports, along with complementary digital assets including Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow and GolfPass.

Job Description

The Senior Account Manager will serve as a critical bridge between Fandango1's commercial, product, support, and engineering teams — bringing deep technical expertise and trusted client relationships to bear in support of the broader independent exhibitor growth strategy.

This is a hybrid role that combines strategic account management, technical pre-sales consulting, client success, and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable on a client call, in a product scoping session, and working through a complex technical escalation — a genuine multi-disciplinary operator who can flex across functions and fill gaps across the organization.

The Senior Account Manager will work closely with and support the Director, Exhibitor Accounts, acting as more operational and technical support to the team’s sales and account management efforts. Along with the team they will drive competitive conversion, client retention, and growth for all cinema sales and account management priorities.

Primary Responsibilities

Strategic Account Management

  • Work with cinema accounts, serving as a technical point of contact for key client relationships.
  • Build deep, trust-based relationships with cinema operators, owners, and decision-makers — identifying operational gaps and developing tailored solutions.
  • Support client retention, satisfaction, and expansion across the Fandango1 product suite.
  • Proactively identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the existing customer base, leveraging knowledge of the broader Fandango and Versant technology stack.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients evaluating new product offerings, platform migrations, or operational strategy changes.

Technical Consulting & Pre-Sales Support

  • Act as the technical voice for the sales team on new client onboardings and product evaluation calls, translating complex platform capabilities into clear client value.
  • Support the Sales, Account Management, Exhibitor Partnership team members and the wider commercial team during prospect engagements requiring deep platform or competitive knowledge.
  • Develop expertise across the full Fandango1 product suite — including ticketing, POS, website solutions, CRM, and customer engagement platforms — to deliver credible, consultative guidance to prospective and existing clients.
  • Identify and articulate gaps in client operations and map Fandango1 capabilities to client needs with specificity and depth.

Client Escalation & Issue Resolution

  • Serve as the senior escalation point for complex or high-priority client issues, coordinating across support tiers and engineering to drive resolution.
  • Manage handoffs between client-facing and technical teams, ensuring issues are accurately logged, triaged, and communicated with appropriate urgency.
  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to scope, prioritize, and advocate for client-driven feature and development requests.
  • Maintain accountability for escalated issues through to resolution, ensuring client confidence is preserved throughout.

Competitive Conversion Support

  • Leverage deep knowledge of competing platforms — particularly Veezi, RTS, and Admit One — to support the conversion of exhibitors from legacy systems to Fandango1.
  • Provide competitive intelligence and platform comparison insights to the commercial and product teams.
  • Support the Director, Exhibitor Accounts in executing the competitive conversion program, including the regionals sales strategies, contributing both direct account-level engagement and broader team enablement.
  • Assist prospective clients through the evaluation and migration process, serving as a credible and knowledgeable guide throughout.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with support (all tiers), engineering, product, and sales teams to ensure seamless client experiences and strong internal alignment.
  • Serve as a connector across functions — translating client needs into product feedback, surfacing operational improvements, and ensuring the right people are engaged at the right times.
  • Contribute ideas and insights to product development and go-to-market initiatives, drawing on direct client and market experience.
  • Collaborate with F1 leadership team to identify opportunities to leverage the broader Versant technology portfolio for the benefit of all exhibitor clients.
Qualifications

Qualifications

Required

  • 7+ years of experience in a client-facing technical or account management role within the cinema technology, entertainment technology, or SaaS industry.
  • Deep familiarity with cinema operations and the independent exhibitor technology landscape, including strong knowledge of platforms such as Vista/Veezi, RTS, Admit One, or comparable systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate across multiple functions — client success, technical consulting, escalation management, and sales support — within a single role.
  • Proven track record of building trust and long-term relationships with clients at the operator and decision-maker level.
  • Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to credibly represent platform capabilities to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with support, engineering, and product teams in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to serve as the technical voice in commercial conversations.

Preferred

  • Prior experience at a cinema technology platform vendor in a solutions, account management, or senior support role.
  • Existing relationships with independent or regional cinema operators.
  • Experience contributing to or influencing product roadmap and feature development based on client feedback.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms for pipeline and account management.

Additional Requirements:

  • This is a remote role requiring regular travel within the assigned market
  • Salary Range: $100,000-$112,500 + Commission
