About this Role
Title: Communication Assistant
At QISG, Communications Assistant plays a key role in supporting the internal communications function through a blend of content creation, event coordination, brand support, and administrative responsibilities. This role assists in maintaining a consistent and engaging internal narrative, enhances the employee experience through strategic messaging and events, and contributes to the company's employer brand across digital channels. The ideal candidate is organized, creative, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
  • Draft, format, and distribute internal communications, organizational updates, reminders, birthday and milestone recognitions.
  • Coordinate and promote engagement initiatives such as learning campaigns, wellness programs, and company-wide updates.
  • Proofread and enhance internal messaging for clarity, tone, and alignment with brand voice.Order business cards for employees.
  • Assist in planning, creating, and scheduling content for social platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram), including graphic design, captions, and video snippets.
  • Monitor platform engagement and compile metrics to inform future strategies and content improvements.
  • Manage updates to internal digital platforms including the intranet and employee resource site under the guidance of the Communications Manager.
  • Support logistics and promotion for internal events, such as seasonal celebrations, town halls, appreciation events, and team-building activities.
  • Coordinate event needs including catering, space reservations, communications, sign-in sheets, and follow-ups.
  • Capture and curate post-event content (photos, summaries) for internal channels and social sharing.
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory and ordering system for branded merchandise and promotional items.
  • Assist with cost tracking and reporting related to swag distribution and usage using Fedex, pirate ship.
  • Design or support light visual content using tools such as Canva for presentations, signage, and branded assets.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to create engaging recruitment campaigns and "day in the life" highlights for social media.
  • Curate and publish employee spotlight stories to humanize the brand and showcase company culture.
  • Support storytelling efforts that position the organization as an employer of choice.
  • Update and send out the vacancy announcement on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain organized documentation and templates for internal communications processes.
  • Provide general administrative assistance, including scheduling, data entry, and file organization.
  • Collect and analyze employee feedback from surveys and campaigns; compile findings into actionable reports.
  • Ensure consistency and compliance with company policies, procedures, and branding standards.
  • Support communications projects and initiatives as assigned by department leadership.
  • Stay informed on industry best practices and contribute new ideas to improve internal communication strategies.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 1-2+ years of experience in internal or corporate communications, marketing, or related field.
  • Proven experience supporting communication campaigns and partnering with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to tone, clarity, and audience.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities
  • Familiarity with digital communication tools (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Canva, or Adobe Suite).
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret engagement data.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
