Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia is seeking a Advocacy Digital Communications Intern to join the team!

PPAV is hiring a highly motivated, organized individual to assist our Director of Communications and Marketing in advocacy digital communication efforts. The Advocacy Digital Communications Intern is responsible for helping Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia reach and grow a network of activists that are responsive and engaged.

Interested? Have your work samples and portfolio ready! Candidates selected to move forward in the interview process will be asked to provide a sample of your social media content or a portfolio for the hiring team to review!

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Supports the advocacy and organizing team to develop and implement digital strategic plans for campaigns
  • Create and develop engaging content – including social media graphics and copy, video, etc.
  • Manages social media strategy and maintains and updates all social media channels,
  • Works with field team to collect and edit engaging video content from on the ground during events

Ideal candidates will:

  • Be well organized and with strong attention to detail
  • Have a creative eye for graphic design and developing content across a variety of channels and platforms (Canva experience), with proven ability for quick turnaround
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the strategic use of Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok
  • Have the ability to create and execute digital plans and campaigns that complement field activities
  • Manage multiple tasks and deadlines as well as work in a fluid and fast-paced environment
  • Exhibit good interpersonal and communication skills that enable work in a collaborative and multi-faceted team environment

Time amp; Compensation

  • Hourly expectations: approx. 15-20 hours/week
  • Compensation of $20.55/hour (paid bi-weekly, must keep track of hours and submit time sheets)
