Imagine a piloted air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly carries you and your fellow passengers over the congested city streets below, enabling you to spend more time with the people and places that matter most. At Joby, we've been working to make that dream a reality since 2009 and we're now in the final stages of certifying our aircraft with the FAA. With plans to launch our aircraft in the US and Dubai, we're now scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of our commercial service.
Overview
Joby Aviation is seeking a Marketing & Communications Intern to support high-visibility projects across consumer research, brand merchandise, content creation, communications, and policy. This role offers hands-on experience at the intersection of marketing, communications, and operations at a company defining the future of electric air travel. The intern will report to Digital Engagement Lead and work cross-functionally with legal, policy, and brand partners.
Responsibilities
  • Consumer Research & Survey Management: Serve as primary project manager for the LA vertiport consumer feedback survey initiative, own the end-to-end collection effort with a goal of 2,000 completed surveys across digital, traditional, and non-traditional channels, then synthesize and present findings to the broader organization
  • Communications Reference Database: Help build and maintain a centralized database of facts, sources, and references used in public-facing communications, creating a verified resource for the comms and legal teams
  • Policy & Advocacy Support: Partner with the policy team to ensure they have the digital and print resources needed to support advocacy efforts
  • Merchandise & Brand Products: Support the external merch store, with a focus on sourcing product samples and identifying opportunities for new releases targeted for Q4
  • On-Site Production Support: Support content production on-site at Joby's Marina and Watsonville facilities for key content initiatives, including shoot logistics, production coordination, and on-the-ground assistance for video and photo capture

Required
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program, or recent graduate within the last 12 months

Additional Information
Relocation Assistance: This position does not offer relocation assistance. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
The pay range for undergraduate interns, which includes junior to senior level students, is $18.00 - $26.25/hour. The pay range for graduate interns with a Bachelor's, Master's, and/or Ph.D. degree in progress or completed is $5,550 - $6,600/month. Individual pay is determined by internship role, department, experience, job-related skills, and level of education.
