Job Summary
Provides advanced deployment and support of enterprise software solutions, digital intelligence (monitoring and observability), and cloud platforms. Leads efforts in continuous integration, testing, delivery, and configuration management. Collaborates across departments, mentors junior engineers, and influences adoption of modern DevOps practices.
Essential Functions
  • Participate in cross-functional design activities at the department level, ensuring code is built with long-term maintainability and scalability in mind.
  • Translate CI/CD and release automation needs into scalable solutions that enable teams to modernize their development and deployment processes.
  • Mentor junior engineers on automation, observability, and continuous delivery concepts; lead by example in implementing DevOps best practices.
  • Contribute to Agile project lifecycle by working within iterative development cycles, user stories, and continuous feedback loops.
  • Influence technical direction by advocating for new tools, practices, and approaches that improve delivery speed, reliability, and quality.
  • Ensure alignment with security and compliance standards in all DevOps activities, including automation, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice
  • Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key's clients and Key.
  • Provides 24/7 "on-call" technical support on a rotating basis.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience. (preferred)

Work Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in DevOps engineering, with demonstrated leadership or mentoring responsibilities (required)

Licenses and Certifications
  • Advanced DevOps or cloud certifications (preferred)

Skills
  • Designing and optimizing continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
  • Terraform (basic): Foundational understanding of infrastructure-as-code concepts; able to read, interpret, and make minor updates to Terraform configurations in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Experience in supporting containerized applications or Kubernetes environments.
  • Leading and contributing to Agile development and iterative delivery processes.
  • Translating release needs into scalable, automated solutions.
  • Managing deployments and infrastructure in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Using tools like Git to manage codebases and collaboration.
  • Guiding junior engineers and promoting DevOps best practices across teams.
  • Working with developers, QA, and operations to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Continuously refining DevOps processes and introducing new tools or practices.
  • Writing scripts and automation tools to support deployment and monitoring.
  • Ensuring DevOps practices align with organizational security policies.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $71,000.00 - $125,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
