A Glimpse of the Job
The Bush School is seeking an Associate Director to assist the Director of the National Security Leadership Program. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader and strategic program administrator who will help shape and deliver premier leadership education for the next generation of U.S. Space Force guardians. In this highly visible role, you will serve as a trusted partner to military stakeholders and senior academic leaders to provide operational oversight, strategic direction, and organizational stewardship for the Captain's Leadership Course. Acting as a key member of the program leadership team, you will lead instructor management, curriculum execution, and continuous improvement efforts while ensuring alignment with university, government, and mission requirements. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of leadership development experience and emotional intelligence while possessing the executive presence needed to build trust with senior officers and faculty. Success in this role requires a keen understanding of organizational and institutional risk, a talent for strategic planning, and the ability to influence outcomes through collaborative efforts and sound judgment. As the Associate Director, you will help drive excellence through cultivating enduring client relationships and positioning the program for continued growth. What You Need to Know
Salary: starting at $95,000/annually (Compensation will becommensurateto the selectedhire'sexperience).

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in applicable field.
Eight years of related experience.
A Well-Qualified Candidate Will Also Possess:
Advanced Degree or higher in National Security Studies, Strategic Studies, Leadership or similar degree.
More than eight years of experience in leadership positions and operations.
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
Ability to positively and professionally interact with clients and staff.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Working knowledge of office software and instructional programs.
Knowledge of principles and methods for teaching and instructing individuals and groups.

Opportunities to Contribute
Leadership and Strategic Planning - Leads strategic planning for areas supervised and assists Director in developing and implementing overall program strategic plans. Serves as part of program leadership team and acts on behalf of the Director. Liaison to partner/client organizations for developing course offerings. Captures instructor and student feedback for continuous program improvement. Oversees the coordination of programs, ensuring program goals are consistent with departmental and University missions. Completes special projects as requested by Director.
Staff Supervision and Policy Implementation - Manages instructor sourcing, training, and scheduling. Assists Director in formulating and implementing policies and procedures. Supervises and directs staff and activities of project teams or functional areas supporting the program.
Curriculum Development and Delivery - Oversee curriculum development and execution, primarily for the US Space Force Captain's Leadership Course, with inputs from multiple organizations. Maintains awareness of contemporary issues within program content to contribute to curriculum development and refinement. Retains qualifications to serve as an instructor in the Captain's Leadership Course. Teaches course material within the Captain's Leadership Course (non-degree seeking, continuing education course) as assigned.
Budget Oversight, Compliance and Reporting - Assists with annual budget preparation and expense control for areas of responsibility and provides input into overall department budget. Develops reports, analyses, and surveys for Director. Ensures compliance with unit, department, University, and government standards, policies, and procedures. Coordinates with various University and System organizations and represents the program at various internal and external fora.
