Job Description

The Maintenance Assistant will serve as a part of the Property Management team.  They will assist with different types of mechanical equipment maintenance, and perform basic repairs or preventative maintenance as required meeting company standards.  The successful candidate should have some previous experience in maintenance, be skilled with various hand and power tools, and be able to read repair manuals and be a self-starter.

Responsibilities

  • Handle basic repairs and maintenance.
  • Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
  • Assist the maintenance team performing preventative and routine maintenance disassembling machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
  • Oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
  • Assist in the diagnosis of mechanical issues and correcting them.
  • Repair machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
  • Check repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.  Emphasis on maintenance and repair a plus.
  • Related maintenance experience.
  • Proficiency with common hand tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches as well as power tools.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
  • Strong organizational and follow up skills.
  • Eye for detail.
  • Professional presentation and attitude.
  • Maintain focus while working individually.
  • Strong time management skills.
