Developer Marketing professionals work closely with engineering and product teams to gain a deep understanding of technical products and developer needs. They frequently participate in product planning meetings, provide feedback on documentation, and help shape messaging that resonates with technical audiences. This collaboration ensures that marketing initiatives accurately reflect product capabilities and address real-world developer pain points. Open communication and mutual respect are key to building trust and creating effective campaigns.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Developer Marketing professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Developer Marketing professional, you need a blend of technical understanding, marketing expertise, and experience working with or for developer communities, often supported by a degree in marketing, computer science, or a related field. Both roles are vital in tech companies but serve distinct strategic purposes.

What is Developer Marketing?

Developer Marketing refers to the strategies and activities aimed at engaging and supporting software developers as a key audience. It involves promoting products, tools, or platforms to developers, often by providing technical content, community events, and resources that help them succeed. Unlike traditional marketing, Developer Marketing focuses on building trust and offering real value, such as documentation, tutorials, or APIs. The goal is to foster adoption and advocacy among developers, who often influence technology decisions within organizations.

NVIDIA has been transforming computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing for more than 25 years. It's a unique legacy of innovation that's fueled by great technology-and amazing people.
Marketing now has two audiences: People, and the AI agents they ask for answers. NVIDIA is looking for a head of agent marketing to help them grow. This job will help them be found, cited, recommended, and chosen by AI-powered discovery. This leader will lead the marketing field where agentic AI, developer marketing, content strategy, and AI-native go-to-market meet. They will make NVIDIA discoverable, citable, and actionable for agents, developers, architects, and enterprise groups shaping the future of computing. Under the VP of Global Digital Marketing, you will guide a small, influential team that grows AEO strategy, agent-readable content, and AI-native marketing workflows on a global scale. Collaboration with Developer Marketing and Developer Programs is essential.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Define Agent Marketing: Develop the approach, operational structure, and evaluation framework for how NVIDIA content, campaigns, web experiences, and priority audience journeys are found and understood by AI agents and human audiences.
  • Make NVIDIA agent-readable: Partner with web, content, SEO, analytics, and product teams to improve page structure, technical depth, metadata, comparison content, FAQs, benchmark visibility, and answer quality across priority NVIDIA pages.
  • Lead AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) & Agent Marketing as a key workstream: Boost NVIDIA's presence, citation frequency, and referral influence within AI-assisted discovery platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, and new agent technologies.
  • Activate developer-facing AEO through partnership: Join forces with Developer Marketing, Developer Programs, product marketing, and web teams to improve how priority developer content, technical narratives, demos, tutorials, and proof points are found, referenced, and engaged with in AI-assisted discovery experiences.
  • Drive the creation of AI-powered AEO workflows that detect content gaps and track new audience questions. Suggest updates readable by agents. Support global teams in enhancing NVIDIA's visibility, citation quality, and referral influence in AI-assisted discovery experiences.
  • Expand AEO strategy throughout marketing: Assist global marketing groups in applying agent engine optimization approaches across campaigns, web experiences, content planning, message testing, personalization, insight synthesis, and performance optimization.
  • Measure what matters: Define success through agent citation rate, AI referral traffic, developer acquisition, content engagement, community activation, account penetration, conversion quality, and campaign efficiency.
  • Lead a high-impact center of excellence that defines and activates the strategy and standards for agent experience marketing. This includes playbooks and a measurement model. The goal is to enable global teams to implement AEO and agent-readable content practices at scale.

What We Need to See:
  • 12+ overall years of demonstrated expertise in developer marketing, technical marketing, product marketing, growth marketing, content strategy, or digital marketing.
  • 5+ years leading teams or major cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed global organization.
  • Proven success marketing to developers, AI engineers, technical practitioners, infrastructure architects, or platform ecosystems.
  • Solid grasp of AI, agentic AI, developer tools, APIs, SDKs, cloud infrastructure, open-source ecosystems, model deployment, inference, or accelerated computing.
  • Consistent track record translating technical concepts into clear, credible narratives for both technical and business audiences.
  • Experience building marketing programs across web, content, community, events, paid, email, social, partner, and sales enablement channels.
  • Familiarity with search, SEO, AEO, LLM discovery behavior, content architecture, analytics, and digital measurement.
  • Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to brief senior leaders, influence technical collaborators, and align teams around a new operating model.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Ways to Stand Out from the Crowd:
  • Hands-on experience with AI developer ecosystems, open-source projects, agent frameworks, model APIs, SDKs, CLIs, local model runtimes, or cloud AI platforms.
  • Experience building AEO, GEO, SEO, or content programs developed to improve inclusion in AI-generated answers and agent-mediated discovery journeys.
  • Deep familiarity with how developers evaluate technical platforms through documentation, GitHub, benchmarks, community channels, tutorials, and peer validation.
  • Strong point of view on how AI will impact marketing operating models, including campaign planning, content production, personalization, analytics, and experimentation.
  • Experience with NVIDIA technologies, including NIM, Nemotron, CUDA, CUDA-X, Omniverse, RTX, Blackwell, Hopper, NVLink, or AI Factory infrastructure.
  • Active participation in developer, AI, open-source, or technical communities.
