Job Summary
The Facilities Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing the development, cost control, engineering, modification, and quality control of Production and Facilities assets as well as associated processes to achieve maximum efficiency and utilization of the equipment and facility for its intended function. Performs functions with respect to established policies, procedures and methods, recommending changes to improve Production and Facilities assets, Capital Equipment Acquisitions (CAPEX), processes, quality, and reduce overall operating costs.
Job Responsibilities
  • The Facilities Engineering Manager participates in the development of the objectives and business plans of the Site and share responsibility for the general management of the Production and Facility equipment to achieve the targets set.
  • Manages the facility organization's Capital and General Services budget in support of the company's goals and objectives.
  • Cooperates in the establishment of organizational arrangements, human resource policies and management development plans that will create a high quality Maintenance and Facility team to ensure harmonious workplace relations to enable the Site to meet its current and future objectives.
  • Complies with government regulations and the company's Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action policies.
  • Regularly assesses and provides feedback regarding performance to employees.
  • Maintains a Safe, Healthy and Environmentally sound workplace.
  • The Facilities Engineering Manager plans, directs, monitors and controls all Maintenance and Facilities activities to efficiently and effectively in support of meeting all delivery schedules within assigned cost targets.
  • Defines and recommends Maintenance and Facility objectives. Develops specific short and long range plans and programs together with supporting budget requests based on customer requirements.
  • The Facilities Engineering Manager is responsible for total preventative maintenance (TPM) program. To ensure zero unplanned equipment downtime in the facility.
  • Responsible for cost control, staffing, outsourced maintenance and Facility requirement forecasts.
  • Reviews competitive posture of unit with in-house and /or outside suppliers of similar services and recommends strategies to be the lowest cost, highest quality provider of products or services.
  • Ensures prompt receipt of needed materials and supplies and on-time delivery of finished products or services to internal customers.
  • Responsible for directing the activities of all outsourced Maintenance and Facilities Team Leaders assigned, technicians, and engineers. Ensures that performance criteria for individuals is established, understood, reviewed regularly and actions taken as needed to ensure performance.
  • Ensures through monitoring of individual assignments that cross training is on-going. Develops the leadership of the unit through mentoring, formal and informal training programs.
  • Ensures appropriate communications and interaction with technical support and engineering groups in order that technical issues are addressed in a timely and complete manner.
  • The Facilities Engineering Manager will drive a cultural change for the full maintenance organization, to contract maintenance personnel, to meet organization targets, to be "Best in Class".
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as needed and assigned.
  • Able to respond to issues on a 24/7 basis as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Maintenance and/or Facilities Management or related fields; Will consider 8 years of professional experience in facilities and/or maintenance management, in lieu of degree.
  • 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance for manufacturing or production.
  • 5 years of experience in management of maintenance departments and personnel.
  • U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements.

  • Strong Leader with ability to motivate and drive accountability, while fostering and encouraging an ethical and positive workplace.
  • Working knowledge and experience with outsourced maintenance
  • Strategic leader with tactical and methodical execution.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and controls.
  • Maintenance of plant infrastructure.
  • Experience working in Aerospace Composites type of manufacturing environments
  • Expect up to 10% travel in this role depending upon location and business needs
