Job description

Full-Time Front Desk Coordinator

The primary purpose of the Front Desk Coordinator is to be responsible for scheduling and checking patients in and out for their appointments. The front desk coordinator will also act as a Medical Assistant when needed. This role will report to the Practice Administrator. The role is full-time, Monday-Friday 9AM-4PM. This position is in Clarendon Hills, IL. The salary is $18.00 - $20.00 per hour.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES of the Front Desk Coordinator:

  • Greet patients and visitors, answer phones, collect copays, and process payments.
  • Register patients, verify insurance, and schedule appointments.
  • Provide knowledgeable and excellent responses to patients in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ensure accuracy in data entry through a multitude of systems.
  • Update patient demographic and insurance information as required.
  • Act as a Medical Assistant when needed:

- maintain patient flow, the upkeep of exam and treatment rooms, and performing basic skills such as vital signs and point of care testing.

- training on assisting with in-office procedures and CT scans, immunizations, and over-the-counter medications under the direction of a Physician.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS of the Front Desk Coordinator:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to work within a database and navigate through a Windows environment required
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred (speaking, writing, and comprehension)
  • 1-5 years of experience as a healthcare call center representative, patient access representative, patient service representative, medical scheduler, medical assistant, or medical receptionist preferred but not required
  • Commitment to company mission statement is required for day-to-day interactions with teammates and patients

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY of the Front Desk Coordinator:

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS of the Front Desk Coordinator:

Preferred: Current Medical Assistant Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT

WAGE of the Front Desk Coordinator:

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
