Job description

Description
The Desk Assistant (DA) position is a student employment position within Residential Life at the University of Washington Bothell. Under the direct supervision of the Resident Director, the DA provides first line response and desk reception services for the residence hall community. They also provide mail and package delivery services. A successful DA demonstrates sound judgment, participates in and facilitates a team approach with coworkers. A DA provides appropriate customer service to students and visitors in order to maintain a welcoming and inclusive Res Life Front Desk.
Educational benefits to the DA role include but are not limited to: organizational skills, customer service abilities and hands-on experience in administrative tasks and office management.
Compensation
Paid hourly at a rate of $21.30 for up 8 hours each week.

Qualifications
  • Priority consideration will be granted to applicants with Work Study for the 25-26 year.
  • Must be enrolled at UW during employment dates (minimum credits = 6)
  • Must have and maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 prior to and throughout their employment
  • Contribute professionally and respectfully to our diverse and inclusive work environment
  • Availability to work shifts between 8:30a-4:30p Mondays through Fridays. Specific shifts will be set up with hired team.
  • Must attend all trainings and workshops:
    • Fall Training which will occur September 21st & 22nd, 2026
    • Complete Title IX and Hazing Training
      • All new student employees must also complete UW's online Title IX course about preventing and responding to sex-and gender-based violence and harassment.
  • The Desk Assistant position is a necessary function that must operate in-person.

Working Environment
  • Reception Space within Multi-story residence hall
  • Will be lifting and moving delivered packages throughout the shift
