Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience
  2. Current valid teaching license
  3. Appropriate knowledge of various educational technologies, including software applications and hardware used to deliver technology-enhanced instruction
  4. Appropriate knowledge and understanding of the interdisciplinary principles of STEM Education
  5. Successful experience in leadership capacity within assigned building or district
  6. Evidence of sound professional judgement, good attendance and a consistently positive attitude toward students, families and colleagues
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, word and email correspondence

Preferred:
ย 

  1. Teaching certifications and/or endorsements in the areas of instructional technology and computer science
  2. Appropriate knowledge of Ohio's Learning Standards for Technology and Computer Science
  3. Ability to identify and resolve technology related issues and errors with computer hardware, software, instructional applications and user accounts
  4. Currently has or completes course work to obtain Ohio's middle school CTE validation certificate

Duties:
ย 

  1. Work under the direction of the assigned Campus Leader, Supervisor of Technology, and the Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction
  2. Design and implement lessons, which align to the District's Technology Curriculum, Ohio's Learning Standards for Technology, and Ohio's Learning Standards for Computer Science for the appropriate assigned grade levels
  3. The teacher takes initiative in maintaining a functional and efficient learning environment by addressing and repairing classroom equipment as needed. This proactive approach ensures that technology, tools, and resources remain accessible and operational for student use. By promptly identifying and resolving equipment issues, the teacher minimizes disruptions to instruction and maintains a productive classroom atmosphere
  4. Collaborates with other technology teachers in lesson design and implementation, instructional resources, troubleshooting methods, and instructional strategies to assess and improve learning experiences for students
  5. Organize instructional resources digitally for students to access learning materials
  6. Establishes a learning environment that promotes critical thinking and collaboration among students by implementing effective classroom procedures that enhance engagement while maintaining a structured and supportive atmosphere for learning
  7. Maintains and assesses equipment inventories for assigned courses
  8. Identifies needed supply materials for assigned courses and requests such supplies, in writing, to the Supervisor of Technology, i.e. 3D printer repair, filament, robotics parts, etc.
  9. Attend and actively participates in professional development as recommended by the Executive Director of Curriculum and the Supervisor of Technology to maintain/update technological advancements as it becomes available to assist with student learning
  10. Abide by the rules, regulations policies and procedures of The Warren City School District Board of Education
  11. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the building Campus Leader, the Supervisor of Technology, and the Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction
