Job description

Job Title: Deployment Lead  
Position Summary
Our client is seeking to fill the role of Deployment Lead.  The role combines hands-on PC deployment and logistics work with leadership and administrative responsibilities. This role plans, prioritizes, and coordinates deployment activities (including imaging, delivery, on-site deployments, events, and rentals) while providing guidance to field staff, ensuring quality, timeliness, and excellent client service. The Deployment Lead collaborates with the Project Manager and Operations leadership to execute project plans, manage inventory, and maintain accurate documentation in the asset system. The role requires adaptability to changing client demands and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with a strong customer-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Administration

  • Provide clear direction and coaching to onsite deployment staff; monitor productivity and quality and promote teamwork.
  • Track progress against project plans, report status to the Project Manager, and adjust plans as needed.
  • Coordinate changes to project plans and ensure updated documentation and plans are shared with stakeholders.
  • Maintain professional appearance and organization of work areas at their facilities and client locations. 

Deployment Operations

  • Receive, prepare, and package orders for delivery with accurate counts, labeling, packaging, and paperwork.
  • Perform deployment activities, delivery, imaging, set up, and deployment of rentals; assist with events as required.
  • Conduct onsite deployments and moves/adds/changes per client instructions and standards.
  • Conduct pickup and delivery of client devices for internal repair and redeployment, ensuring secure handling and timely turnaround.

Quality, Inventory, and Documentation

  • Inspect and test PCs and hardware per stablished policies and standards.
  • Maintain accurate inventory status and movement in asset-tracking databases.
  • Accurately record work performed in Microsoft Dynamics; ensure complete device lifecycle documentation.

Client Service and Collaboration

  • Provide friendly, responsive, high-quality customer service to clients.
  • Work with PM and Operations leadership to understand deployment requirements and execute plans to meet standards and expectations.
  • Balance workloads with teammates to promote cost-effective and productive operations.

Compliance, Safety, and Training

  • Adhere to safety standards and company policies; participate in ongoing training and certification.
  • Support or obtain required licenses/certifications; follow security and privacy requirements as applicable to projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support project success and client satisfaction.

Qualifications and Requirements
  Must-have qualifications

  • 2-3 years related experience; or 2-year degree with 1 year of experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to stand for the entire workday and lift/carry 10-50 lbs. repeatedly.
  • Customer service focused plus demonstrated experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and maintain professional communication.
  • Extreme attention to detail, especially for inventory and documentation.
  • Experience using serialized barcode scanning data entry systems.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize duties to meet overlapping deadlines.
  • Proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), as well as web browsers

  Nice-to-have qualifications

  • Forklift and Straight Truck driving experience.
  • Technical background with hands-on PC deployment.
  • Help desk/ CompTIA A+ background.
  • This role will require background checks for certain projects.

Working Conditions and Schedule

  • Schedule: This position typically requires a 40-hour workweek during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, with a combination of first and second shift assignments needed to support operational requirements. Work hours may extend until 10:00 p.m. up to 25% of the time.
  • Travel: 10-25% travel; periodic overnight travel may be required.
  • Physical demands: Regular standing; ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs; climbing or bending as needed.
  • Work environment: On-site at customer locations and facilities; fast-paced with client-driven deadlines.
