The Deployment Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient movement of frozen bulk components across the company’s manufacturing network to balance inventories and support finished goods production schedules. This role reviews demand, analyzes component requirements across seven manufacturing facilities, and coordinates intercompany transfers to maintain optimal inventory levels and prevent production disruptions. The Bulk Deployment Planner works closely with production planning, procurement, logistics, and plant operations to balance supply, minimize shortages, and support the manufacturing schedule.

THE ROLE:

  • Analyze component requirements across 7 manufacturing facilities to support the finished goods production schedule.
  • Monitor inventory levels, open orders, and forecasted demand to identify potential shortages or excess inventory.
  • Plan and execute interfacility component transfers to ensure production continuity and minimize downtime. And to support interregional demands for customer orders, rework activity, and canning needs as they arise.
  • Collaborate with production planners, procurement, logistics, and plant operations to align material availability with the manufacturing plan.
  • Review and adjust deployment plans based on changes in demand, supply constraints, inventory constraints or production schedules.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels regionally throughout the network, ensuring adherence to service level and inventory targets.
  • Track and resolve component shortages, escalating risks that may impact production.
  • Optimize deployment to ensure aged inventory and alternative commodities are prioritized with the goal to balance usage and reduce problem inventory.
  • Work closely with the Bulk Planning team to address inventory challenges and follow the bulk movement plan.
  • Conduct regular review with the Fresh Pack Planning Director, at least quarterly, of the actual vs budgeted movement plan
  • Coordinate with transportation/logistics teams to ensure timely shipment and delivery of components with the focus of cost-saving strategies.
  • Lead regular meetings with Scheduling teams to ensure effective inventory usage and availability
  • Participate in supply chain meetings / discussions to ensure a good fill rate / level of service;
  • Provide solutions to any problem associated with replenishment by monitoring detailed inventory levels, and provide direction when substitutions or deviations are required in collaboration with the Bulk Planning Analyst
  • Maintain harmonious relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain visibility, planning accuracy, and inventory optimization.

PROFILE:

  • Ideally 3 years of experience in supply chain planning, material planning, deployment planning, or inventory management;
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret demand and inventory data;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis);
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and coordination skills;
  • Superior organizational and prioritization skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment;
  • Analytical thinking and data-driven decision making;
