Summary:

Shift4 is expanding globally and hiring a Director, Deployment who will be responsible for overseeing fulfillment, distribution, and logistics operations - including warehousing, inventory management, and order fulfillment - for a primary fulfillment site while supporting other global locations.

This leader will drive efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement across the distribution network, supporting ERP system performance, 5S and Lean practices and carrier/vendor relationships to align with organizational objectives.

This opportunity is based at the Shift4 location in Bethlehem, PA.

Relocation assistance may be available.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement fulfillment, distribution, and logistics strategies aligned with company goals and long-term growth at a primary fulfillment site while supporting other locations (domestic and international).
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains across warehousing, inventory management, order fulfillment, and distribution operations.
  • Manage and allocate resources - staffing, warehouse space, and equipment - effectively at the primary site while supporting others to meet fulfillment targets and budgetary constraints.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs for order turnaround time, shipping accuracy, inventory accuracy, and fulfillment SLAs to ensure quality and efficiency standards are met or exceeded.
  • Lead the fulfillment and warehouse operations team, including site managers and staff, fostering a culture of 5S, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Support the optimization of internal ERP system for the Fulfillment organization, helping ensure data integrity, accurate reporting, and effective utilization across the site and broader team.
  • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to manage carrier, 3PL, and vendor relationships, ensuring timely delivery, competitive freight rates, and favorable agreements.
  • Implement and sustain 5S and Lean methodologies at the primary warehouse while supporting other fulfillment sites to drive measurable productivity and safety improvements.
  • Implement and oversee quality assurance programs across fulfillment and distribution functions to ensure customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify potential operational risks - including inventory, carrier, and customs-related risks - and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring business continuity and resilience.

Qualifications:

  • 9+ years experience in warehouse operations, distribution, logistics or fulfillment management ideally across multiple sites or regions to include 3+ years of leadership and building of high-performing, multi-site or distributed teams.
  • Hands-on qualification and working experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and ERP system (e.g., Oracle, NetSuite, or similar platforms) required.
  • Experience managing international shipping, customs brokerage, and import/export compliance across multiple countries.
  • Experience with inventory management practices, including cycle counting, physical inventory, and inventory accuracy programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interactions with customers, internal teams, carriers/vendors and senior leadership.
  • Leadership experience, including building and leading high-performing, multi-site or distributed teams.
  • Strategic thinker capable of translating business and customer needs into actionable logistics and distribution solutions.
  • Experience with CRM systems, project management tools and other relevant reporting/analytics software applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, logistics, information technology, or a related field. Experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
  • Able to work onsite at Shift4's location in Bethlehem, PA (Relocation assistance may be available).

Additional experience that is a plus to have:

  • Experience with POS systems and the distribution of payment and point-of-sale hardware.
  • Demonstrated experience with 5S and/or Lean methodology; formal 5S/Lean certification.
