Field Deployment information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in Field Deployment, and why are they important?

To thrive in a Field Deployment role, you need strong technical troubleshooting abilities, project coordination experience, and a relevant technical degree or certifications. Familiarity with deployment management tools, mobile device management (MDM) systems, and remote support platforms is essential. Excellent communication, adaptability, and problem-solving skills help professionals build rapport with clients and resolve issues efficiently on-site. These skills and qualities ensure smooth technology rollouts, minimize downtime, and maintain customer satisfaction during deployments.

What are some common challenges faced by Field Deployment professionals, and how can they be managed effectively?

Field Deployment professionals often encounter challenges such as tight project timelines, unexpected technical issues onsite, and adapting to different client environments. Effective management of these challenges involves strong problem-solving skills, proactive communication with both internal teams and clients, and thorough pre-deployment planning. Building flexibility into schedules and maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge can also help ensure smooth deployments. Collaboration with remote support teams and regular status updates are key to overcoming obstacles and delivering successful outcomes.

What is a Field Deployment specialist?

A Field Deployment specialist is responsible for installing, configuring, and activating equipment, systems, or technology at client or remote locations. They often work in industries like telecommunications, IT, and energy, where they ensure that products and services are operational and meet customer requirements. Their role involves traveling to various sites, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical support. Field Deployment specialists must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in diverse environments.

Job description

About the role

We are looking for highly ambitious engineers with a passion for driving customer success at the highest levels. This is not a typical engineering role; it's a unique opportunity to operate at the intersection of groundbreaking technology and critical customer impact. You will be entrusted to own the outcome of our most strategic customer engagements, leading the charge on high-stakes initiatives that directly accelerate the industry's adoption of safe, software-centric, AI-driven machines globally.
Note: This role may require relocation several times per year to various customer sites. For most of 2026, the target location will be in Austrailia.

At Applied Intuition, you will:
  • Own end-to-end field deployment of Applied's product lines at customer sites leading integrations of systems from initial setup through steady-state operations
  • Partner with customer operations leadership and frontline teams (control room, field ops, maintenance, etc) to establish clear roles, decision paths, and day-to-day operating procedures
  • Drive safe operational readiness by translating safety philosophy and "non-negotiable" critical controls into site procedures, training, and go/no-go criteria
  • Act as the technical escalation point on-site: triage issues, collect logs/telemetry, reproduce problems, and prioritize fixes with the broader engineering team while keeping customers unblocked
  • Monitor deployment health and performance (uptime, throughput, latency, intervention rates), then drive continuous improvement with the customer, internal engineering teams and applied leadership
We're looking for someone who has:
  • 3+ years of experience supporting technology deployed on heavy equipment, construction machinery, mining trucks, or similar off-road vehicles
  • Prior experience working in the mining/construction industry
  • Hands-on experience with field installations, including wiring harnesses, sensors, ECUs, power systems, and vehicle interfaces
  • Experience deploying and supporting software systems in production or customer environments
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, electrical, and networking domains
  • Comfortable working in active construction or industrial environments
  • Ability to work independently, own outcomes, and make sound technical decisions in the field
  • Strong communication skills and comfort acting as the primary customer-facing engineer
  • Willingness to be based on-site in Louisiana for extended periods
Nice to have:
  • Background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, robotics, or related technical fields
  • Prior work in autonomous vehicle development domains
  • Familiarity with CAN, Ethernet, vehicle diagnostics, and logging tools
  • Experience working with Linux-based systems in the field

Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, interview performance, and the level and scope of the position.
