About the Job:
The Market System Analyst supports the three segments within the Market Support Services (MSS) department: Economic Analysis, GIS, and Market Research. In addition, the analyst works as an internal marketing resource providing expertise and information to people at various levels within the entire organization, including the Senior Leadership Team, Investor Relations, Business Development, and the Commercial side of the business.
Access to Marketing Tools and Processes
MSS provides a unique opportunity to gain exposure to proprietary, internal demand forecasting tools, as well as marketing tools and processes not available in a field role and not available at other companies in the industry
Exposure to Business Management
MSS staff routinely works with corporate and division management.

What You'll Do:
Perform economic analysis using various data sets (both publicly available data as well as purchased data sets).
Demographics analysis.
Sales analysis and application to forecasting.
Exposure to new technologies and data platforms (e.g. machine learning).
Benchmark internal data vs external data.
Assist in preparation of presentations for external conversations for both industry groups as well as Vulcan customers (as a value-added service for the Vulcan Commercial group).
Seek out and vet new data sources.
Serve as the primary backup for ongoing maintenance of GIS system, which includes the Competitive Intelligence database and logistics data.
Assist Market Research team as needed by (a) supporting strategic growth plans in high-priority markets (b) executing strategically important demand forecasts and/or (c) providing GIS analysis supporting business development efforts.
Assist in support of initiatives led by the VP of Marketing Support Services.
