Job description

ABOUT VEG

In 2014, VEG was born with a mission to help people and their pets when they need it most by challenging norms and fixing the ER experience. Since then, we've expanded rapidly, with hospitals nationwide open 24/7/365, and created an ER experience that focuses on what our pets and pet parents really need. We've done the same for our people (VEGgies), finding a way to say YES so they are empowered to achieve great things, grow in unexpected ways, and find a place where they truly belong.

We're rethinking emergency care from every angle—from how we run our hospitals to how we support the people working inside them. That's where our headquarters team comes in. Whether building technology to make our hospitals more efficient, recruiting and growing incredible VEGgies, or bringing our brand to life through marketing, our VQ (VEG Headquarters) team makes it all possible—ensuring our hospitals and people have everything they need to help pets and their families.

VEG is a 2025 and 2026 certified Great Place to Work®.

THE JOB

At VEG, we find a way to say YES—and that includes building the real estate foundation that allows us to bring emergency care to more pets and pet parents across the country. As a Real Estate Analyst, you'll help drive VEG's continued hospital expansion by turning market research, site data, and deal information into clear insights that support smart, fast, high-quality real estate decisions. You'll work closely with senior real estate leaders across the full deal lifecycle, from market strategy and site evaluation through approval materials, lease support, and pipeline tracking. This is a hands-on, high-exposure role for someone early in their commercial real estate career who wants to learn quickly, operate with ownership, and help build the physical footprint of the world's veterinary emergency company.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Support market strategy and site selection. Conduct market research, demographic analysis, competitive mapping, and economic review to help identify and evaluate new expansion opportunities for VEG hospitals.
  • Turn data into decision-ready insights. Use research tools, AI, consumer insights, and site-level analysis to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations, approval materials, and executive-ready presentations for senior leadership.
  • Participate in real estate execution from market tour to deal approval. Travel with the team to select U.S. markets, support site evaluations, document feasibility considerations, and capture the key observations that inform site selection decisions.
  • Help move deals through the pipeline. Support lease negotiations, lease abstraction, lease administration, key date tracking, and coordination with brokers, landlords, attorneys, and internal partners to keep new hospital opportunities moving.
  • Own the accuracy of real estate information. Maintain databases, trackers, documentation, and pipeline materials so the team has reliable, organized, up-to-date information to make decisions and execute quickly.
  • Learn directly from experienced real estate leaders. Report to the Vice President of Real Estate and Development and partner closely with Directors across the deal lifecycle, gaining hands-on exposure to leaders with 30+ years of combined commercial real estate experience.

The opportunity is based out of our headquarters in White Plains, NY. Our "VEGquarters" is filled with fun, engaged people who will welcome you to the fold, top tech equipment to perform your work on, comfortable meeting rooms, and complimentary snacks to keep the energy flowing. This is an in-person opportunity with some travel involved.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in real estate, finance, business, or a related field.
  • Ability to analyze market, demographic, competitive, and site-level information and translate it into clear, decision-ready insights.
  • Strong ownership and follow-through, with the discipline to manage details, track key information, and keep work moving across multiple projects at once.
  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to build organized materials and presentations that help leaders make informed decisions.
  • Curiosity, coachability, and strong judgment in a fast-moving environment where you'll learn by doing, ask thoughtful questions, and act on feedback.
  • Interest in commercial real estate, development, market strategy, and data-driven decision-making; direct real estate experience is helpful, but strong aptitude, curiosity, and work ethic matter most.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Empathetic, instinctively taking a people-centric approach, whether supporting your colleagues or making an effort to understand different perspectives
  • Have a sense of humility; acknowledging mistakes, sharing credit with others, and lifting up your team's' accomplishments
  • Feel a strong sense of ownership over your work, taking responsibility for outcomes and staying committed to achieving long-term, impactful results
  • Curious by nature; you ask insightful questions and continuously seek out opportunities to learn and grow your skills and knowledge

HOW WE INVEST IN YOU

  • Competitive Compensation Including ($75,000 - $83,000) + bonus + benefits.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits that start on day one, and access to free therapy or counseling
  • Paid parental leave, up to 10 weeks at 100% of regular salary, and offering inclusive fertility and family-building care for all types of families
  • Unlimited PTO to use for vacation or sick days—however you need it!
  • Generous employee referral program, so our awesome people can bring in more awesome people.
  • And the little (big) things, like casual office attire, ability to bring your fur baby to work, cool VEG swag, food in the fridge for when you're hungry and free lunches twice a week!!
  • Company laptop and a monthly cell phone reimbursement
