Job description

OVERVIEW
JOB TITLE: ODEI Graduate Intern
LOCATION: St. Paul Campus
PAY: $16.00-20.00
JOB SUMMARY:
The Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI) seeks a graduate student intern to support its inclusive excellence efforts, programs, and data collection. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support inclusivity and belonging efforts at St. Thomas. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to innovate creative solutions for office upkeep and diversity programs coordination, as well as practice creative communication and presentation skills. This position reports to the ODEI and will work collaboratively with other university partners on diversity programming. A solid understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Canva, or a comparable program, is preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Support the daily administrative operations of the ODEI office. This includes database maintenance and administrative office tasks.
  • Support diversity programming, including planning and coordinating efforts.
  • Support data collection for data-driven decision-making for ODEI business goals. Specifically, in the areas of: Climate Survey data, DEI Engagement, DEI retention, and DEI Strategic Planning.
  • Manage the development and management of content for the ODEI internal and external websites, as well as various other marketing materials, as needed.
  • Serve as a representative for ODEI at diversity events and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion through a variety of student events on campus.
  • Support undergraduate student interns with student programming.
  • Copy and prepare materials for meetings, events, files, etc.
  • Provide other various support for ODEI, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Per the student employment eligibility policy, one must be an enrolled and degree-seeking graduate student at the University of St. Thomas.
  • Attention to detail, and can work independently and as a team member.
  • Excellent project coordination and customer service office experience
  • Maintain confidentiality with sensitive data.
  • At least 1 year of experience coordinating projects and efforts from start to finish is preferred.
  • Experience with marketing design software, such as Canva, is preferred.
