What is a DEI intern?

DEI Interns, or Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Interns, are students or early-career professionals who assist organizations in promoting and implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Their responsibilities often include conducting research, supporting training programs, helping with data analysis related to workplace diversity, and assisting with outreach or event planning. DEI Interns help create a more inclusive work environment by supporting projects that address bias, foster cultural awareness, and advance equitable practices within the organization.

What does a DEI intern do?

As a DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) Intern, you can expect to support initiatives that foster an inclusive workplace, such as assisting with employee resource groups, helping coordinate awareness events, conducting research on best practices, and collecting data for diversity metrics. You may also contribute to developing training materials, supporting communication campaigns, and collaborating with HR or DEI teams to analyze feedback and suggest improvements. This role often involves cross-departmental work, offering valuable exposure to various functions within the organization and providing a strong foundation for a future career in DEI or human resources.

These abilities are crucial for advancing DEI goals and fostering an inclusive workplace environment.
