The dean of a higher education facility is a member of the administration and helps to make decisions that affect the university or college within their specific department or area of influence. | Required Credentials | Typically advanced degrees (Master's or Doctorate), academic experience, leadership skills | Usually teaching certification, administrative credentials, leadership experience |
| Work Environment | Higher education institutions, universities, colleges | Primary and secondary schools, K-12 education settings |
| Employer & Industry Usage | Universities, colleges, higher education sector | Public and private K-12 schools, school districts |
