Job description

General Summary

As a Bilingual Technical Trainer at Kia Canada, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our dealership network is equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide outstanding service and support to our customers. You will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive technical training programs that cover all aspects of Kia vehicles, including diagnostics, repair procedures, and maintenance protocols. This position will be based out of our regional office in Montreal QC or head office in Mississauga ON.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver engaging instructor-led technical training programs for dealership technicians in both French and English.
  • Develop and deliver virtual instructor-led (VILT) new model technical and product training courses for dealership staff in both French and English.
  • Develop and deliver technical "Bite-sized video" content in both French and English.
  • Stay updated on the latest automotive technology trends and incorporate relevant information into training materials.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure training content is accurate, relevant, and aligned with Kia Canada standards.
  • Utilize a variety of training methods, including classroom instruction, hands-on workshops, videos and e-learning modules, to cater to different learning styles.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback mechanisms, and continuously improve training content and delivery methods.
  • Provide ongoing support and coaching to dealership staff to reinforce learning and address any performance gaps.
  • Maintain training facilities and equipment to ensure a conducive learning environment.
  • Assist in the development of certification programs and competency assessments for dealership technicians.
  • Collaborate with other KCA departments to gather feedback and improve course quality and dealer satisfaction.
  • Represent Kia Canada at industry events and conferences to showcase our commitment to technical excellence and training.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience/Education Requirement
  • Fluently bilingual in both French and English
  • 5 years minimum experience in the automotive repair/service field
  • Previous experience in automotive technical training or technical trainer certification a strong asset
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures, with specific expertise in Kia vehicles preferred.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant training software applications.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is considered a strong asset
  • Willingness to regularly travel domestically and occasionally to the U.S. and South Korea
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Post-secondary education in automotive technology or equivalent experience
  • Salary Range: $70,000 - $99,153
