Job description

We're seeking someone to join our team as an AI Patterns and Controls Monitoring Professional to provide Compliance coverage and guidance to the Firm's Business Units and Infrastructure Divisions across all regions and jurisdictions. In the Legal & Compliance division, we assist the Firm in achieving its business objectives by facilitating and overseeing the Firm's management of legal, regulatory and franchise risk. This is a Director level position within the NFR Artificial Intelligence Governance Group which is responsible for Compliance coverage of information management and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML) governance.

What you'll do in the role: Help implement Morgan Stanley's Information and Data Compliance program, primarily focusing on monitoring of AI patterns and controls. Help establish and implement the governance framework for the onboarding, testing and ongoing monitoring of AI and Gen AI models.

Help establish a risk-based framework for the review and signoff of Gen AI uses cases by the Control Functions in AI Governance. Coordinate the review process of AIML use cases by the relevant control functions. Perform periodic monitoring checks to ensure 1L and 2L adherence to governance policies and procedures.

Advise on applicable governance processes, controls, policies, and procedures, including their design to meet regulatory requirements; review, draft and provide support for new and existing policies and procedures. Collaborate with Compliance testing groups. What you'll bring to the role: Strong interest in developing working knowledge of data and information management regulatory requirements, including the European AI Act or similar pending or upcoming regulations.

Strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders across Risk, Legal, Business and Technology divisions. Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships and work collaboratively within a geographically diverse team. Good execution and organizational skills, pragmatism, and the ability to manage risk, prioritize workloads and multitask.

Bachelor's degree or higher. At least 5 years professional experience in banking and/or enterprise technology compliance (or a similar role relating to information and data management and oversight of complex technology systems in a highly regulated industry). All our positions are located in Montreal, Quebec.
