Job description

Level 1 IT Support Technician

TechJr.com is a managed IT, cybersecurity, networking, and low-voltage support company serving businesses across the Gulf Coast. We support dental offices, professional businesses, and growing organizations that rely on dependable technology every day.

We're looking for a motivated, dependable Level 1 IT Support Technician to be the first point of contact for client issues. This is a great fit for someone early in their IT career who wants hands-on experience, mentorship, and a clear path to grow into a Level 2 role.

Position Summary

The Level 1 IT Support Technician handles incoming helpdesk tickets, basic workstation and connectivity issues, account setups, and onsite service calls. You'll work alongside senior staff who will train and mentor you, with the goal of resolving common issues independently and escalating the rest with clear notes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to helpdesk tickets by phone, email, remote support, and onsite visits
  • Support Windows desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and common business applications
  • Set up new workstations, user accounts, Microsoft 365 accounts, and basic permissions
  • Troubleshoot common Wi-Fi, connectivity, and printer issues
  • Monitor RMM and backup alerts and flag or escalate as needed
  • Support dental offices and other professional businesses with recurring IT needs
  • Document all work clearly in tickets, including time entries, next steps, and completion notes
  • Escalate complex issues to senior techs with clear notes on what you've already tried

Must Have

  • 1+ year of IT support experience, a relevant degree/certification (e.g., CompTIA A+), or equivalent hands-on knowledge
  • Windows 10/11 troubleshooting fundamentals
  • Strong customer-service skills — able to explain tech to non-technical people patiently
  • Dependable, organized, and able to work tickets without constant follow-up
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (some field travel required)
  • Comfortable using AI tools and modern support platforms to work efficiently

Nice to Have (not required — we'll train you)

  • Microsoft 365 user and email support
  • Basic Active Directory / domain knowledge
  • Network basics: DNS, DHCP, VLAN, VPN, firewall, switch troubleshooting
  • Experience with RMM or remote support tools
  • CompTIA Network+
  • Exposure to SonicWall, UniFi, ConnectWise, N-able, Windows Server/Hyper-V, or backup software
  • Low-voltage / cabling experience

Schedule

Full-time, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM start, based in Pensacola, FL. Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required for projects, maintenance windows, or emergencies.
